  1. Since we have been to and toured Vina Del Mar and Valpariso, we had not planned to get off the ship today! Then we learned that there was a grocery store (Jumbo) approximately 1/2 mile away, so our plans changed! After breakfast, we got in line and took the shuttle bus to the terminal at around 9:15am. The grocery store was an easy walk, one straight street to get there! We picked up some more chips, chocolate, and cookies, for ourselves and our Cabin Steward, and of course, two bottles of wonderful. Chilean Carminere. It took some extra time to get through the terminal, onto a shuttle, and back to the ship, as the terminal staff were a bit unorganized, but we were onboard again around 11am. A photo of the view from our balcony, and a couple from photos from outside!
  2. Jim is hopeful the Filet will be a MDR special again on the next cruise! We shall see . . .
  3. The show was really good! The singers are all fantastic! I especially loved “Smoke on the Water”! Awesome! There was one number where the audience was encouraged to wave their phone flashlights. It always cracks me up that very few seem to know how to find their phone flashlight! We watched many try to figure it out, but couldn’t so just used their “home” screen! 🤣
  4. We had dinner in Chops last night and Jim loved his Filet! As always, great food and service! The MDR has had an “off the menu” dinner special each night. On Night 1 of this cruise, the special was Filet Mignon, which of course was Jim’s choice. He said his Filet was as good as the ones he gets in Chops.
  5. I was actually able to get a couple of pictures today during our few minutes of sunshine and blue skies as we sailed through the Chilean Fjords! The rest of the day was in black and white, with some gray thrown in! LOL!
  6. Yep! Not taking the Ferry Route! Too bad, it looked cool with two lighthouses, some whales, and a few volcanos! Fastening my seatbelt now! LOL! Back to speculating and suspense! 🤔
  7. Jim found a Ferry Route that Capt Stig might follow. It would keep us inside until just south of Puerto Montt. Yes, suspense! 😉
  8. Hmmm! That’s a great idea! I think we’re going to get one of those short plastic shower squeegees and just keep it in our cruise bag!
  9. We’re sitting here right now trying to figure out the plan! Wind has definitely picked up!
  10. Jim has cleaned ours twice already! It drives him nuts when it’s filthy! There’s no point cleaning it today though, as we probably have more bumpy seas ahead!
  11. It woke me up at 2:10, and although I was fine, bouncing over the “potholes” kept me up for a couple of hours! 😉
  12. Ditto! This is the one I took from Chops trying to catch the double rainbow! Hadn’t realized the windows are tinted either!
  13. We have spent the past two days on our balcony taking photos and admiring the breathtaking scenery! We have only left our balcony to eat, and I still had to stop and take a few photos from Chops last night! Whew! Even now, it’s quite blustery out, but I’m still taking photos!
  14. There are four species of Cormorants on the coast of Patagonia. These are likely Imperial Cormorants!
  15. I feel the same! I have an old iPhone 7. It does OK! I don’t want to carry a phone and a camera everywhere!
  16. Wow! That was a crazy crowd in your video Laura! Glad we have a great view from our balcony! Here’s my favorite rainbow shot from this morning, during a blue sky moment!!
  17. Taking anything from the National Park was forbidden. Although I too usually bring home rocks and shells, when it’s specifically forbidden, Pele’s Hawaiian curse always comes to mind and I resist the urge! 😁
  18. Beautiful coastlines along the lake, and the The Post Office at the end of the world!
  19. Today we took a ship’s tour to Tierra Del Fuego National Park. The name means “Fire Land” and according to our guide, it was coined because of the fires used by the Indigenous People that communicated by smoke-signals. The day began sunny, clouded up and rained a bit, then cleared again. The Park was beautiful and our time there, although about 3 hours, was too short!
  20. We have been using this fan for almost a year. It has 3 speeds and can either be hung with a heavy duty hook or can stand on a counter. It plugs into a USB port to charge and folds flat to fit easily in a carry-on. We fly and cruise with it all the time!
  21. We’re sad but certainly understand. Our Penguin excursion to Seal Bay was not cancelled so we were all packed up and looking forward to it this morning! I guess I’ll just have to book another cruise with the Falkland Islands on the itinerary! 😉
