  1. Looks like Queensland kicks off on 9 Dec, with other states following anywhere between 16 to 20 Dec. Could be in for a fun time @Jim_IainπŸ™ƒ
  2. If you pay fees, the more money you pay, the less days your kids are at school 🀣
  3. Enjoy. We loved it, and NZ but I'm slightly biased on that one. Lived in Oz for 19 years in Brisbane and had many a happy holiday in Qld. Only ever cruised in and out of Sydney. I say only, it's a pretty iconic harbour to cruise from/to.
  4. 🀣🀣my hubby once asked why did I want to go on a "Round the Horn" cruise, it'll be just like New Zealand he said except on the other side of the Pacific. Yes some of the scenery was similar, but we don't speak Spanish in NZ, eat the same food or have the same history. He loved it.
  5. Echoing the thoughts of others in thanking you for this very informative and balanced review. Very helpful given we've yet to sail with Regent- our first booking isn't until 2026!
  6. Thanks for that, I'll check it out. Jim did an excellent job, as always, of giving an objective comparison.
  7. I'm glad you enjoyed my unfinished symphony 🀣 thank you. I'll do something, not sure what yet. Scenic doesn't have a dedicated CC forum. There's a pretty active FB group. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention that here πŸ€” I'll definitely post to my IG account which is public. ... and back to the lovely Edge and Jim.
  8. Had to read this a couple of times Jim to work out what you were saying. Having two ships with Eclipse in the name is confusing. We're sailing on the SCENIC Eclipse II ( https://www.scenicnz.com/tours/journey-across-the-pacific-easter-island--french-polynesia/13777) not the Celebrity Eclipse in March, hence being unfaithful to X 🀣. Still a darn that we won't get to meet up though! Loved the Samoas.
  9. ❀Sounds fabulous, enjoy. We would have been joining you at one time. To quote @Jim_Iain, we're being unfaithful and trying out Scenic Eclipse on an Easter Island πŸ—Ώ and French Polynesia itinerary next March.
  10. 🀣With the VP on board I'm sure X will be pulling out all the stops. Saying a πŸ™ to the sun gods for you as summer has been slow to arrive here. On the plus side, hopefully the waterfalls will be flowing for you in Milford Sound πŸ‘Œ
  11. Best enjoy the display while you can. Unless things have changed, apparently health and safety regs mean they're not allowed the pyrotechnics in NZ waters. At least that's what we were told a few years back, could of course have been one of this X excusesπŸ€” Hope the Edge has kept her bottom clean on the way from Rome 🀣 You don't want a Pacific Explorer experience πŸ˜‰
  12. Oops, just read the other posts. Supply chain issues seem to be fleet wide. Really no excuse with inventory management systems that are available these days.
  13. This is really interesting Jim. We had major supply issues on the Eclipse back in January. At the time, I thought Celebrity had completely mismanaged their supply chain over in this part of the world- too reliant on central purchasing out of the US without fully considering how to effectively transport to the other side of the world. Sounds like they struggle to get it right outside of their main markets around the US and Europe. Hard to have a Negroni without any Campari 😱. First 🌏 problems. Belated happy birthday and hope the supply issues don't impact you too much.
  14. @GenerationX loved your comment about European pace of dining. We love to linger over our meal and felt really rushed on our first few cruises. Discovered on speaking to a M'd that some folks complian about not being served fast enough and missing the show! We explained that we don't do shows. Sorted, leisurely paced meals. We may even have got the hint a couple of times in Murano that it really was time for bed πŸ€£πŸ˜‰
  15. My goodness Alexandra, I had no idea this happened to you. What a very unusual way to experience our country. Hopefully one day our paths will cross either on sea or land.
  16. Now then 🀣 Mr (and Mrs) Fudge thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. Most informative and highly entertaining. I truly appreciate the time you've taken to share your experiences and will miss your daily updates. Look forward to reading about your next adventure on Sevensea.
  17. 🀣funny for those of us following reviews on both ships.
  18. Left the UK nearly 30 years ago and really miss all the accents.
