  1. Looking at booking Serenade this summer out of Tampa. 2 of my teenagers have only sailed Voyager / Freedom / Oasis class. My eldest has done Jewel and Brilliance with me in Europe, so is familiar with the "non promenade" ships. Does the Solarium Cafe on Serenade continue to offer late night pizza and snacks in the US? What is the evening & nighttime entertainment like? Is the waterslide only for little kids? Thanks.
  2. Sorry!!! Internet troubles today.... Brilliance was CORRECT for the original pic!!
  3. Good guess! You can tell it is not a newer ship. But not Rhapsody...
  4. Here's a fun game! Post a recent picture and see if others can guess the ship. I'll go first. This was taken this year, anyone know what ship it is?
  5. I thought it was bigger than Oasis and Harmony as well. Better layout, for sure. Here is a timelapse tour of Wonder, you can see all the areas directly
  6. We had 10:30 out of Bayonne for Adventure, but it may take a bit longer to get Oasis ready.
  7. I never even thought this could be an issue. At the pool bar, I would always get a drink on my card and one on my husband's so we both did not need to crowd the bar. Never a problem.
  8. Is the taxi metered or flat rate $32? We will be 4 people, so $32 is a good deal to not have to wait. But if it is metered, it could cost more with traffic.
  9. Just did this in May. We were on one of the first sailings in Ravenna, and the RCCL shuttle from the Ravenna train station wasn't running yet. I spoke to a local and he said there are only 5 taxis total in Ravenna, although perhaps there are more now that there is a higher demand .I heard it was pretty hectic getting from the train to port, but I believe it has improved in recent weeks. We took the shuttle from the Airport both directions. Even though we stayed in Venice pre and post cruise, we took a cab to the airport to meet the shuttle. The bus was very comfortable and dropped us off right at the terminal. Very convenient.
  10. There are many options. We used the pharmacy right near Termini station, no appointment required: Farmacia della Stazione . It was fast and very central. 22 Euro. There is also this company that has several locations: LIFEBRAIN
  11. If you have a positive PCR test, you can get a Certificate of Recovery from your doctor 11-90 days after the date of the positive test. If it was not PCR, you cannot use a COR. That said, most people do not continue to test positive with Antigen tests at the 30 day mark (but still possible with PCR). All Royal Caribbean needs is negative Antigen.
  12. Yes, also note all the details that need to be included on the PCR result, including lab name, lab address and CLIA number. That is pretty standard in the USA, but not always included in other countries.
  13. I just cruised twice with a COR (fully vaccinated). First cruise, no problem, they accepted the COR and moved on. Second cruise, they called over the supervisors, and everyone was looking at the positive PCR result from a month ago along with the COR. The rep said to me, "This says you tested positive!" and I showed her the old date of the test and the COR doctor's note. She kept on repeating that this was a positive result, and I needed a negative test to board the ship. She finally asked me if I tested negative at any point after I recovered and I said Yes, and then she allowed me to board. It was very odd. I knew if it escalated further, there would not be a problem, but this set of reps did not seem educated in the COR process.
  14. I don't believe they were checking luggage on the ship, but we stayed in Venice for 2 more days so we didn't inquire
  15. I was on Brilliance and Wonder in Europe last month and there were washcloths on both ships.
  16. We have done Santorini twice. First time, we took a boat from where the tender left us off (base of Fira, near cable cars) to the Oia side, then a bus up to Oia. To get back, we needed to take a bus to Fira, and then the cable car down. We heard of too many people getting injured by slipping on the stairs, we didn't want to risk it. Line for cable car was over 30 mins. The most recent time, we were on a late tender. When we were buying tickets for the boat to the Oia side, we were told they wait for the boat to fill before leaving. Since we were on a late tender, he said expect to wait an hour, maybe 2, maybe longer. They would not leave unless it was worth it for them. So instead we took the cable car up, and had to walk to the central bus station to catch a bus to Oia. It was at least a 10+ minute walk. The bus station was chaos, and the woman kept on promising the bus would arrive in 5 minutes. We waited over 20 mins for the bus, and there was a large queue ahead of us who had been waiting longer. They squeezed as many passengers into the bus as they could, many did not have seats. It was the same on the return.
  17. It's funny, someone once described Naples to me as "the Marseilles of Italy"
  18. Just came back from this itinerary: Rome: We boarded here and spent a few days in the city. There is so much to do, so many options. Best to take a tour to maximize time if you have never been here before - either through the cruise line or 3rd party Naples: We took a third party excursion to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. We have been here in the past, and it is spectacular. Barcelona - We took a cab to Park Guell in the morning, then to Sagrada Familia, and spent the rest of the day exploring the gothic quarter of Barcelona / La Rambla area. Mallorca: We took the ship's excursion to Drach caves. It is really cool if you have never been to see stalagmites and stalactites. There is also an underwater lake, and you get a small boat ride across the lake (a few minutes). There are 3rd parties that offer this trip, but none were picking up at the port on our day. Interestingly, they did other days. It was still worth it, very unique. Marseilles: We took the ship's "shuttle" to Aix en Provence. This was not a guided tour, it dropped us off in the city and we had hours to explore. The ship stops at this port on Tuesday, which is Market day. So amazing to experience the Provencal markets, a must in my opinion. Ship's price was cheaper than a taxi or private excursion. La Spezia: We did a third party excursion to Florence and Pisa. We had almost 4 hours to explore Florence on our own, and an hour in Pisa. It was fabulous. There was an option for a guided tour in Florence, but I have been here before and opted for the drop-off option. Let me know if questions.
  19. Do D+ teens also get the 2 free days of internet or is it only adults? I know teens do not get the picture.
  20. I recall reading that some ports required the second shot (or booster) to be no more than 270 days from the date you planned to visit. However things change all the time, best to get updated info directly from the cruise line. I would even recommend looking at the specific countries' policies. I personally did not hear of any one testing prior to leaving the ship for excursions.
  21. We took the 7:30am RCCL shuttle to Marco Polo Airport, and arrived around 10:15 am. You will be fine for an afternoon flight. You can try to secure an even earlier shuttle time. The shuttle left on time and we did not have much traffic.
