  1. Wow that's good to hear! I may give it a try in 2023 on a comp cruise assuming I get any. Appreciate hearing this.
  2. When I cruise solo, my favorites in order are: SEA DAYS. I love being at sea. Coco Cay. I love Coco Cays solo! Cozumel. I have a ton of friends who ex-pat there. I hate sailing out of Galveston tho.
  3. Interesting! Any idea how one figures out the difference?
  4. Thank you so much, this answers my question about combining two interior offers! I checked with my TA and they said my Oct 2023 is refundable (Junior suite too) so I just need to sit patiently and wait til the vouchers are released and see if pricing has gone up too much to rebook under a free cruise plus upgrade.
  5. Appreciate the clarification! I’ll have to try this if her and I ever get the same offer, lol. I’m curious if anyone here has done two interior annual free Prime cruises combined into a higher stateroom category — and what that category was.
  6. Wow that is a huge jump up! We’re these your annual free Prime cruises or two other interior offers? Thank you!
  7. T-Mobile here, zero issues calling from port on any cruise I've taken.
  8. I cruise MOSTLY out of MIA, always fly in the night before, always book near downtown (midway between airport and cruise port) and always take Uber and it's not expensive.
  9. Heard on a different website that if a couple both have Prime annual cruises they can combine it into one better cabin? What do two interiors become? Just an oceanview?
  10. I've never used a concierge on RCCL, but I have friends who do. The most important thing for me is pre-cruise specialty dining reservations. We always do unlimited specialty dining and when you board the ship and make reservations, a lot of the best slots are booked. Suite concierge can help get those in before boarding. Concierge can also book excursions but we don't do excursions so no benefit there. On my last Symphony cruise, a friend of mine in a real suite had issues with his free D+ drink vouchers getting billed as a regular drink so he just had the concierge fix it. No waiting in line. Also if you want to disembark early, the concierge can help with that.
  11. I would use it pre-cruise for sure, 100% of the time. Plus for CK stuff? I have only JS booked for my next 12 cruises and check real suite prices every week hoping I can afford it, just for the precruise concierge and CK option.
  12. For concierge service? I would bid any/all.
  13. This is my first year being Prime, but we're booked through April 2024 already (mostly through a TA, ouch). That puts me in a bad position for my April 2023 Prime voucher since it has to to go something booked within a year, correct? I already booked February and March 2024 and have suites for both. I'll have to call my TA (big box company that rhymes with Frostco) and see if I can move the deposits ($500 each!) to another cruise. Worse, if the cruises I booked are already jammed with bookings, the price will be higher for suite upgrades off the Prime interior price. Hmmm.
  14. I'm a heavy tipper if someone provides just basic service. If they go out of their way, then the sky is the limit (no kids, no wife, no mortgage, late 40s here). The only reason I go on cruise ships is (a) I need to always be moving and (b) service. Between myself and my partner, the free drinks has actually given us reason to cruise more. We don't drink much but always appreciate a nice libation, and the DL was always a mess during HH. Never again, to be honest. Now we can find a bar that isn't busy and just have a nice time together over a cocktail that's made a little bit more intimately than the rush at the casino bar or the pool bar at noon on a sea day.
  15. We have done UDP for every Thanksgiving and Christmas cruise for year (minus quarantine years) and never once had an issue. On big ships and small ships, both. We do tip hefty, tho, so it’s possible YMMV.
  16. I’ve run a bunch of permutations and combinations in a spreadsheet and it’s definitely true but it’s edge participants who are affected. I would guess that 90% of voucher users won’t see more than 1 drink lost per person over any length of cruise, and 10% are likely losing one day worth of drinks, maximum. There’s no math (that I could estimate) where a person loses more than 1 day count of vouchers. It’s still better than the old DL “drink as much as you can in 3 hours” nonsense. I detested those people.
  17. Royal uses the data. This is common in the data harvesting and reselling world, too. I harvest and sell data for an income. If I could get your zip code, gender, age, and your family/friends data and see how much you’re willing to pay for a vacation package upgrade, it would be worth at least a dollar, if not 3-4, to a captive travel agency customer. Multiply that by a few hundred thousand bids a year? It’s millions. Royal won’t sell it, tho. It’s worth more to their revenue departments.
  18. I would buy a 10 drink card for sure, if it was always available. And that’s me with 5 D+ drinks plus free Prime casino drinks. So they’re losing cash by not offering it. I can’t imagine ever buying a drink package, tho.
  19. Never in my life have I met so many rich folks who are so cheap that they game the system into costing them more every year, and they think everyone else is paying for it instead. It is truly comical to sit back and watch!
  20. I'm Diamond Plus + Prime so the drink package works really well for me -- but I think offering a credit to D/D+/P towards a package actually makes sense, for those who want it. Would be bad for me since 5 drinks per day doesn't work and I'm not in the casino that much at all -- a premium 'decaf' product in the morning and a premium 'decaf' product at dinner are 2 already, plus a cocktail at the beach/pool and one cocktail at dinner and perhaps a cocktail after dinner = 5. The Prime free booze only matters if/when I'm in the casino which is rare since I only aim for prime once a year and that's about it.
  21. I've SEEN people complain about their drinks resetting at midnight and not being able to consume all 4/5/6 that first night. So this gives you a little breathing room on night 1. If you drink more than that, this is bad for you since you don't get to flip the first night but everything is fine after that. Either way, it only affects 1 night.
  22. This is an interesting point. On Symphony, the casino bar is open until 3am, and another bar was 2am I believe.
  23. Agreed! I am usually in bed by 8pm on land, but on a ship 2am isn't unheard of. Plus 5am is a good time to get a "free" specialty coffee if you're an early riser! I believe we'll still get them the first day and it'll be ship-specific the last day.
  24. Dear Loyal Members, One of the great benefits of being a Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle Club members is the daily complimentary drink vouchers you receive on every sailing. Currently, the active window for voucher redemption each day is from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, which means that any vouchers you redeem after midnight count towards your balance for the next day. We know how much you love these drink vouchers, and we want to make sure you’re getting the most out of this benefit! We’re excited to share that we’re changing the daily schedule so that these vouchers are now redeemable from 5:00 AM to 4:59 AM the next day. What does this mean? It means that your daily complimentary vouchers will now reset at 5:00 AM every morning allowing you to get more out of this benefit during prime hours of each day, including your after-midnight drinks. On top of the schedule change, we want to help you better keep track of the usage of your complimentary drink vouchers, so we’ve added a tracker to the printed receipt that is given upon receiving your complimentary drink. At the bottom of the receipt, there will now be a line of text which indicates how many vouchers you have used towards your daily balance, e.g., “C&A Beverage Voucher [# Used] of [# Total].” You’ll never lose track of your complimentary drink vouchers ever again! We will be rolling out these changes beginning on all sailings departing on or after December 16th, 2022. As always, we thank you for your loyalty and for being a valued part of our Royal Caribbean family. Sincerely, Crown & Anchor Society
