First of all, my prayers go out to you and your entire family on the loss of your grandmother. Secondly, I enjoyed reading your review and seeing your beautiful photos. Thank you for all the time you spent on another great review and I'm so glad you really enjoyed your solo cruise !

We are sailing on the Allure in Jan. and trying to read all we can about the ship and ports (Western) and I must say that your " tag-team" review is one of the best that I have read. The pictures are great and add so much to the story. Thank you both for taking the time to compose such a wonderfully informative and entertaining review!

We were able to book during the first 8 days in May when the prices were at their lowest for the Jan 11,2015 Allure cruise. We got a D1 balcony for $923.pp and today it is around $1283. pp. We are very excited as this is our first cruise on Royal.

There are a few reasons we have not tried Celebrity yet. The 123Go/pick your perk promotions are one of the reasons. We do not drink and do not want to indirectly subsidize the drinking of others. Is there a way to book without these promotions and just get a lower cruise fare instead. If so, how?
I should mention that we also do not drink juice, soda, or coffee. So the drink package is really of no value to us.
We chose the onboard credit and our online TA matched it. At that time it was $300.00 for a balcony so we had $600.00 OBC to spend on whatever we wanted.

I actually have a Mediterranean cruise booked through a TA for Sept. I booked using her because they were offering $50 onboard credit I normally do everything on my own and I wish I would have this trip. After booking prices dropped of course I couldn't call RC as the TA has to do everything well I did get a price drop then they had the 3/4 person WOW sale had to bug TA again she did get my 3 and 4th guest free. I have to make all my payment through her and I am almost afraid if prices drop again to ask her to help us as I just received an invoice with a letter stating "this accounting has been a nightmare!" I had to book my own flight through Choice Air on my own so the only positive is the $50 credit, but can't say it's worth it losing control of my booking and being able to call and make changes or price drops on my own!
You need to start looking for another TA !

Great ship, great staff ! Don't worry, be happy! Seriously, it was the best of the S-class ships that we have sailed on. Captain Kafetzis was so funny! Food and Beverage Manager, Koray Savas, took time to take a picture of our group for us and when I mentioned a staff member on Reflection from whom we received exceptional service, he took out his note pad and wrote down her name. All of the staff were very visible during the day and especially at night.

So glad I found your review! We have only cruised Celebrity and thought about Divina but had read too many negative reviews as others have mentioned. We are sailing on the Allure in Jan. so that will be a big change for us. The Divina is still on my radar, however. Looking forward to your day-by-day "adventures" !

Enjoyed your review. We are sailing on the Allure in Jan 2015 and I am trying to read everything I can about the ship and the western ports. Thanks for posting and my prayers go out to your father and your entire family.

Hello everyone!
This is Gambee's friend Sarah. I just got in contact with him via email. As some of you may know he is currently on board the Carnival Breeze.
He is aware of the Photobucket issue and will take care of it on Saturday, 5/10 when he gets back in port and disembarks.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks, Sarah . I was looking back over his Allure review as we just booked for Jan. Love all of his pictures. He seemed to be having a good time on Carnival and I am looking forward to his review like many others.

Just let your TA handle it for you. I'm sure it will work out for you.

Chris, great review! Thanks for taking the time to share your cruise with us again! We just booked our first cruise with Royal on the Allure in Jan 2105 partly due to your and Gambee's reviews. Happy Sailing !

Thanks, "setsail" and "clarea" for the swift reply! I think we would like deck 8 for the convenience.
-
New to Royal and want to know about the noise level for the outside balcony cabins located on deck 8 which are located behind the restaurants.

Found your review yesterday and finished today. Great job ! Appreciate all the work you put into it. Always sailed on Celebrity but thinking of Oasis for our next cruise and your review helped answer our concern for the large number of passengers aboard. Again, thanks !

My husband and I are planning our first cruise and have a question. We were going to get a Veranda or AquaClass room on the Silhouette, but I'm worried about getting motion sick. I am not sure what type of room would be best for me. If this helps, I get motion sick by visuals mostly (rides with screens are the worse, Soarin' at DisneyWorld is my worst nightmare), and spinning, but that shouldn't even be an issue.
Any recommendations?
We take a generic seasick pill from CVS every morning, but especially the morning of departure and the first sea day on the Eastern Caribbean cruise . As mentioned , try for a veranda cabin on decks 7,8,9 near the center hump area of the ship. If you can snag a category 1A on the slant portion of the hump you will love the larger balcony! Happy Sailing on our favorite ship!

I just wanted to take a moment to let our cruise family here at cruise critic know that The Andrew passed away on March 16th. It's only been a week and I am already just lost without him.
My prayers go out to you and the family.
