  1. Here's a thought Harry ?😊 If Locksmiths were go on strike..... Would they refuse to picket?πŸ˜•
  2. If you like to book direct ,then be sure to get quotes from a cruise specialist who is offering a cheaper price .We have done this and got the same price booking direct using price promise . https://www.pocruises.com/why-choose-us/price-promise
  3. Should you ever change your mind HMV have got a sale on .πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€
  4. That's 2 bones down and 24 to go if she's going for the full house πŸ˜• Hope she's fit enough to go away.
  5. Not always H 😊 I've had a few listening to radio 2 . The last couple I had were the ones that took ages and all I got was a robotic voice saying " Breathe in and hold your breath" by the time it's saying breathe normally ,your gulping air in before it starts all again . Give me the radio and relax one any day .
  6. I bought a ECO Wedge XT Solar Motion Welcome Light a few weeks ago . It lights up our path on the lower lumen setting ,so could be set brighter if needed . Very impressed with it ,only cost Β£20 and the only energy it need was me screwing it to the wall.
  7. We used to love visiting Winchester cathedral if we stay there overnight before our festive cruises . It is truly a amazing building . We did a cruise to Rouen and as we wandered around on a very cold day ,we went into their Cathedral and as we walked around a corner into one of their wings a choir started to sing "Oh Holy Night " We just stood in amazement, spellbound by the beauty of it all . We must have caught the choristers eye as he just gave us a welcoming smile and beckoned us to come into the area closer . A truly magical moment ,we will never forget. As you say they are wonderful places to visit this time of year . Take care everyone
  8. https://energysavingtrust.org.uk/advice/lighting/ Read the link above to be enlightened πŸ˜ŠπŸ’‘πŸ”¦πŸ˜Š
  9. I didn't feel like eating when I saw the price of my car tyres either. Best not to talk about it you will get over it quicker that way .πŸ˜‰
  10. Hi just a busy day having to get my priorities right .We needed to go and see our new Grand daughter as they grow up so fast ,she's now a month old and just pulls strange faces at me πŸ˜‰ On the way home the car tyre pressure light came on, so off to the garage , only to find air pump out of order , off to the next garage ,it's working but not for us .Mrs K had put .50p in the darn thing but no air ?? Turns out this machine is operated by Dick Turpin and had a tiny sign that read 10,20,50 &Β£1 coins , We had two twenty pence's left and a couple of pound coins . Minimum spend is Β£1. England are playing in less than an hour ! Short story it had to be done , car tyre's blown up for 1.50πŸ˜• Now that's what I call Inflation ! Sat down with a sarnie and mug of tea with minutes to spare and didn't we do well πŸ˜€ Might settle down to a bit of Wordle (Failed yesterday) and Question of Sport
  11. Hope to hear back from you on your return and hope you do have a wonderful cruise .😊
  12. Morning everyone 😊 Isn't it amazing how this time of year people decide to diet, well apart our good friend Graham (lovely steak ) We seem to go against nature ,watch any wildlife program and all the creatures are munching away ,stocking up our winter energy . Some will do it just before a cruise so they look good before they gorge and drink , only to slap it all on again . I think with Christmas looming it's best to cancel any diet until the New Year ,where you can break the resolution, along with the rest of us .πŸ˜‰ Anyone who wants to go ahead, then good luck but keep away from the online slimming sites . First thing they ask you is "Do you accept cookies "πŸ˜• The only diet that I think works is the Adam Ant Diet ... 🎢 Don't Chew Ever ....Don't Chew EverπŸŽΆπŸ˜€ Take care have a good day
  13. Congratulations to your Niece, you should all be proud of her. But saddened by the death of a loved family member. A bitter sweet day that will never be forgotten .
  14. On any ship or hotel ,we do the same and Mrs K insists on boiling the kettle, filling the cups with boiling water, soak the spoons then discarding the water . Then and only then can I make us a nice cup of tea
  15. I will leave you to your slumber πŸ˜‰ We are sat waiting with a cuppa for the hot buffet part to open at 6.30 am .I used to have a job where getting up at 4am was the norm for me . I suppose the MDR opening time is like an elevenses to me .
  16. Have you seen how many people are in the buffet at 6:15 am ,not a lot and make sure we are one of the very 1st through and as you say keep away from the bread . Only have hot drinks whilst in there . I have also (as posted) seen waiters from MDR exit loo without washing hands . I have also witnessed a guy cough into his hands before picking up the salt and pepper in the MDR. My message is take care wherever you eat because you never know where the dirty people dine . A lot of onshore hotels we use ,we again make sure we are through as soon as it opens for meals regardless of if it's a Travelodge or Hilton and can assure you with what we see , we are so glad we were first through .
  17. Understand where your coming from H , to be fair we eat early so for breakfast we are through soon as it opens . Never would I use it in the morning rush hour . Dinner in the main dining room most of the time. One of the scariest things was watching four people at the Grab and Go taking sandwiches out of the cabinet .One lady tucked one under her armpit whilst examining another two she had taken out before putting a couple back in the cabinet . Not for us thank you. I heard whispers that the Grab and Go ,is to be discontinued and going on what I saw ,it won't be missed by me.
  18. Rule 2 : Ignore rule 1 if you keep your fingers off food and use a tissue to handle tongs. Worked for me over the years ,as posted in my last post, MDRs are not 100 % safe either. It's some of the people and staff who are the problem .
  19. Really sad state of affairs when we have just been through a pandemic and yet we have a few people who not capable of basic hand washing but here we are. It is not just some passengers ,a few years ago I reported a member of staff who walked out of the toilets and into the MDR where he was working . The officer was not pleased with him . Passengers and crew all have a collective responsibility when it comes to our welfare.
  20. As the song says "Don't Stop Believing " That is excellent news, so pleased for you.πŸ˜€
  21. I would have told him " It's for the air con ,it don't half get stuffy with the heating on "πŸ˜‰
  22. Morning all and great to see Avril back but a shame that Josy has been treat in such a way . I personally have to watch my sugar and salt in tinned goods(not by choice) and as posted the salt content can be a lot better in a cheaper tin of tomatoes anyway. The way the world is going some are in for a rude awakening ,they have never had to go without but will be doing so and it's no good abusing the people that are trying to help you. A lot of people are going to come a cropper when it comes to Christmas and they go out overspending on not just a gift but expensive gifts they know they cannot afford. It will be everyone's fault but theirs. The real meaning of Christmas seems lost on them . I see supermarkets according to the papers, such as Asda are rationing how many eggs you can buy but fear not we are in the middle of November and they should be getting more eggs in very soon . I used to like the ones with a little pack of Smarties inside 😊
  23. Pretty bomb proof here 😊 We have a turkey crown in the freezer. We have enough farms and markets nearby who sell turkeys. As a back up, our local pub sells wild turkey πŸ˜‰ @Adawn47 Your fan club awaits you 😊 Hope all is well with you .
