1. We always get a survey in our e-mail after returning from a cruise. I wonder if it depends on whether you booked your cruise through a PVP or a travel agent? We've always booked through our PVP. Maybe just a coincidence?

We book online on the Carnival web site and get the email survey's.

  2. Price drop watchers, check it out!! I booked Early Saver originally, and am currently under the Upgrade Your Summer sale. Today it has dropped again!! We are in 1 Ocean View cabin, 3 passengers (me, husband, and son), and today's savings was $120.

For a grand total saved so far of $580!! Gotta love Early Saver!!! That is more than the cost of our 3 excursions! Thx for paying for my excursions Carnival!! :D:D:D

Go check your rates people, if you're eligible!! :D

Congrats. We are on the Freedom Repo cruise 2/2/2015 ES Balcony cabin. No drops yet, still hoping.

  3. This is a bit misleading . You dont have to actually have the sodas and water IN a carry on . We put ours on top of our rolling carry on's and just roll it in .

P.S. Not to say it might easier for you to have it in a carry on . :)

Same here, remember your room won't be ready till about 1:30 to drop anything off. I prefer to "roll" it around rather than carry it. Have a great cruise.

  4. It is usually a way they try to stagger arrival times.

You can show up early and likely board earlier than 1:30.

This past January on the Miracle we showed up at 11 AM and were on board about 12:30. Someone who boarded when we disembarked said that they did not get on till almost 2 for their cruise due to problems with disembarking passengers, can't verify this as we did self assist and were off by 8 AM. I believe they said they showed up before 11 AM for their cruise.

  5. Personally I would rather run the risk of being in the naughty room than have my luggage meddled with/stolen from.

I find it bizarre that luggage is left outside cabins for long periods of time and is never locked on US cruises. When you travel round Europe you see locks on almost every largish suitcase.

We locked our luggage with 2 locks last cruise and didnt get sent for it to be searched.

    Lock it to be safe.

We always do and have never been called to "The Room".

  6. We also recently boarded our first NCL ship and loved it. We have NEVER had a bad cruise on ANY cruise line.

I am always baffled when one will only sail the same cruise line. Variety is the spice of life...and you have no idea what you are missing.:D

Our first cruise was on NCL and we loved it. Since then we have booked CCL mostly due to price and dates. Also as CCL is the only line that will open the balcony dividers and we cruise with our best friends and enjoy some quiet time with them enjoying cocktails after a busy day.

  7. That is one big downfall of bringing on sodas from a port stop. It never tastes the same as what you are use to at home. The sweetener can be different and so can the water they use to make it.

Agreed, our friends have done this several times to replenish their mixers. Different taste to their Rum and Cokes.

  8. I have the money saved and designated when I book but I wait til the final payment is due to give them my money. I use a credit card that gives 3X points for travel purchases and pay the card off before interest is charged.

Same here, why give them my money early. Also prepay gratuities and order 2 bottles from BV for the cabin. We normally book a year to 8 months in advance as we like ES and pick our balcony cabin.

  9.
These are our BEST friends!!!! We ALWAYS get adjoining balconies. The guys like to smoke their cigars out there at night. Or after we come back from Port we like to have a drink out there. I seriously feel like I hit the lottery. I don't expect anyone to be as excited as I am for me, but I'm excited!!!!! It would just be weird to have a cabin between us. Lol
Great news, am excited for you. We also cruise with our BEST friends next door with the divider open. Makes for a great time. One of the reasons we cruise Carnival is they open the dividers where other lines do not.
