  1. I just got off her yesterday. As always, the cruise was awesome! Sadly, she's beginning to show her age with ragged carpeting, some rust and some worn upholstery. Hopefully she'll have a day at the spa in the form of a dry dock soon. You won't be disappointed, though. She's a great ship.

We were on her in January for the second time and she is showing her age. Still a great ship with a great crew.

  2. I had leftover OBC and wasn't sure if it the type of OBC I would actually get refunded to me, since I didn't get a check under the door as before, I read it might be mailed...I asked a crew member when we got off the elevator in the midst of debarkment and he said I could get it out of the kiosk, then walked me over to the machine and showed me the process to request it...bam like an ATM had the cash in hand as walked of ship. :D Makes me wonder what all the people in line at GS were doing? I really thought it was great customer service for that crew member to take time to show me, verses just telling me to go over and use the machine, esp at a busy time such as debarkment.

Did the same on Miracle last cruise. The Kiosk is great.

  3. Not unusual. We cruised the Dream's Eastern itinerary in 2010. Roatan & Belize do not observe daylight savings time ever, and our ship stayed on Florida time the whole cruise. So that meant that we were 2 hours ahead of both Roatan & Belize. Our independent excursion in Roatan had to know, because it meant an early morning start for them. Carnival hardly ever changes ship time just because of crossing a time zone, unless it is a repositioning cruise; or maybe Alaska or Hawaii (not sure about those).

Past January we changed time twice on the sea days going to and twice on the way back from Hawaii.

  4. Shorts and t-shirts are fine in the MDR for breakfast (and even dinner on casual nights despite what others will tell you). Tank tops on men are not allowed in the MDR at anytime. My 16yr old nephew was turned away from breakfast in the MDR because he had a sleeveless shirt on.

I can second that, one of our friends was also turned away at breakfast because he was in a tank top. Had to return to his cabin and change. Gym shorts were OK though.
