  1. I just ordered champagne for an upcoming cruise and the limit is 2 bottles per room. I'm also bringing my 1 bottle per person onboard :)

Yep, 2 bottles per room. I have seen posts where others have claimed that they waited a week or so after they placed their first order and placed a second order for 2 more.

  2. Sorry you didn't enjoy the ship. The Miracle is one off my favorite ships and had a great experience in Oct so much so that I booked the same itinerary again.

Sorry your experience was not the best. We were just on the Miracle to Hawaii this past January and had a great time. Great crew and even though the ship was showing some wear we found the ship in great shape for her age. We were on her once before and neither time were we disapointed in the least.

  3. For me it would be cheaper to get it myself, but by the time I wake up the Lido buffet is a madhouse. Also there are no trays on the Miracle so rounding up a bunch of stuff for the roomies is really hard now. For me it is a well spent 3-5 dollars.

Just hold onto the tray from your room service order and use it the rest of the cruise for you trips to the buffet. Make sure your room steward knows not to take it when they clean your cabin.

  4. We had a totally different experience than Freedom2014.

We did a B2B on Liberty this past January.

Other than being disappointed in the new menu with lack of a variety of soups and not as many dessert choices, there were some good entrees to choose from.

Liberty still had the full 10-piece orchestra and production shows.

We're booked on Freedom for January 2015 with another B2B - Western & Southern. That will be our 1st experience with The Playlist Productions. Hope I'm not too disappointed.

When in January? We were thinking of doing the same. Duh,guess I should have paid attention to your countdown clocks. These are the same dates we are considering.

  5. Mexican Riviera is ok, but I do prefer the Caribbean ports - particularly Southern Caribbean ports.

The trouble with Mexican Riviera in Feb, is that it might be cold for more than half of the cruise until you get far enough south, which takes about a day or so.

As far as ports, Cabo is pretty developed but is fun. We filled up the 2 port days there with fun activities. The whale watching there is probably one of the best spots in the world and February is right in the middle of whale watching season. Humpback, Blue and Grey whales will be there. The humpbacks are curious and came right up to the boat we were on.

Puerto Vallarta is very nice too. There is plenty to do and see and is one of those ports I decided to return to for a land-based vacation some time. There is a (non Carnival) tour that brings you out to swim with the dolphins in the wild. There are plenty of nice restaurants in town too, or places to see outside of town.

It is a nice cruise, but I do prefer the more port-intensive cruises in the Caribbean. My favorite cruises of all time are the Southern Caribbean cruises out of San Juan. Nothing beats those in my mind.

Agree about the Caribbean. When we did the Mexican Riveria, see my sig, they offered far better, IMHO, itineraries. Not sure I would enjoy just the 2 ports that they now offer.

  6. I do not want to start my vacation being stressed out wondering if I'll make it or not.

We always fly in two or three days before.

Same here. Have only been delayed once ,connecting flight in Atlanta due to ice, but we cruise in January from Minnesota, lots could go wrong. Always plan something for the city we are in preceeding the cruise, helps get us into vacation mode.

  7. Room service is free and tips are appreciated. You can order whatever you want.

You can order drinks through room service as well. But you will be charged the same as if you ordered them at a bar.

Drinks with alcohol are charged for, coffee, tea, juice are free.

  8. We cruise every January and there are very few teens. Lots of toddlers and babies. Most teens aren't able to leave school, clubs, jobs or athletics at that time of year.

A cruise a year ago they told us there were about 80 under-18s on board, half of them being under the age of 4.

This past January they said there were just under 200 under-18s, the majority of which were under 12. I probably saw maybe a dozen 13-17 year-olds.

    Same thing we have noticed.
