  1. Oh nooooo. I hate that builders in this area put water heaters in our attics. I have our plumber inspect ours every year or two because I'm so paranoid about that. The next time we replace it, I am hoping to go tankless so I won't have to constantly worry about it.
  2. Glad you were able to fix it fairly easily. We had to spend $3K last week to repair our A/C, but it's been 104-105 the last couple of days, so we were just glad to have it working again. We also had to replace our garage deep freeze at the same time, which was only 2 years old. 😫 Thankfully, we didn't lose any food. The new one will be delivered today, and we are fortunate to get it that quickly since many models are on backorder right now. So much $$$$ that I'd rather spend on cruising! 😁
  3. Grandpa's tooth fairy pays a lot better than the one that visited our house! 😂 I received only $.25 in the 80's, so we thought our fairy was doing well to bring $5 for the first and $1 for the rest. Our son once lost a tooth while eating ice cream on the Lido of a cruise, but he managed to rescue the tooth before he swallowed it. Amazingly, the tooth fairy still found him way out at sea. 😄
  4. It seems like lots of folks going on Alaskan cruises this year (not just on Royal) are ending up with Covid during or shortly after. Did you encounter this or any discussion about it on your cruise? We are sailing on Ovation in July and I am just curious how all of that is going.
  5. YESSSS!! I hope you picked up some good snacks for the road. Beaver nuggets are my favorite!
  6. It's definitely something to be aware of, and I must admit it's a concern, but it will not stop us from going on our Alaskan cruise in July! I just hope if we end up with Covid again, we are able to finish the cruise and get home first, like you did.
  7. So glad you got your cruising and review mojo back in time for this B2B! It looked like you had a spectacular time!
  8. Really sorry. Did you make it home first, or are you still stuck in Seattle? Does anyone know how many ended up getting Covid during or afterward? (From discussions on social media, etc?)
  9. LOL!! I went on my first Alaskan cruise in my early 30s (2005), with two of my girlfriends, back when we were all single. Ahead of time, it sounded so adventurous and exciting. Imagine our surprise to find the ship filled with more scooters and oxygen tanks than I'd ever seen in one place in my life. I had no idea that Alaskan cruises had that stereotype/demographic. It was September, so there were virtually no young families with kids. And we were the only singles we encountered on board. So funny. Still had a fantastic time.
  10. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. So sorry to see the test results. Hope you kick it quickly.
  11. It's a little sad to see all of those nice pictures of the Freedom, knowing what she looks like now. 😞
  12. I can't believe I just found your review a few days late - I needed this in my life today!! ❤️
  13. Y'all. This morning was my boy's graduation from 5th grade. He's headed to middle school in the fall. While we were waiting for the ceremony to begin, another couple came in and sat next to us. They had a baby carrier with them. The lady immediately started fussing with the carrier to take the baby out. Only it wasn't a baby at all - it was a large pug dog!! She then began dressing the dog in a shirt that matched her own outfit! All in an elementary school cafeteria. It was... unusual.
  14. I have been wanting to do this, but what do you put them in? Did you bring a vase with you?
  15. Did you feel pretty safe walking around at night in the area of your hotel? I always did in years past, but I've heard things have changed since the last time I was there.
