  1. There was when I was there in March. By the way, the Walmart is next door to a shopping mall with a number of department stores.
  2. You need to plan to arrive a minimum of 1 hour prior to your reservation time. The length of time it takes on the bus, an Uber/Lyft, or taxi can vary a lot depending on where you catch it and traffic. Also, be aware that the boats to the Arizona maybe canceled if there are strong winds. I used Lyft from the port and it took about 25 minutes for the ride to get there and another 45 minutes to get to the park. I took the bus coming back. It arrived at the stop within 5 minutes of the scheduled time and took about 50 minutes to get to a stop near the Aloha Towers, but I’m sure that could vary a lot based on traffic.
  3. Have you called Choice Air? I’ve used Air2Sea with Royal Caribbean but not Flights by Celebrity. They both used to be Choice Air. My most recent use was last October. I booked Choice Air through the website, but wasn’t able to pre-select my seats on the AA/BA flights (the BA was actually an AA flight). I called Choice Air to explain the problem and they were able to select the seats on both the AA and BA segments for me. The agent I spoke with said sometimes they can do seat selection, but not always. It might be worth the time to call. By the way, I have a frequent flyer account with AA, but don’t fly with them often was never able to directly manage my seats on the AA or BA site (even after the flight was paid for). I was able to easily manage my outgoing flight segments on UA even prior to the flights actually being paid for.
  4. I’ve used flights booked through Air2Sea successfully a couple of times. The things I like about them are: (1) you can often get really good prices on 1-way international flights, (2) you can cancel before final payment with little or no penalty, (3) if the price goes down, you can contact the cruiseline and get the price lowered (4) no additional money is required until your cruises final payment BUT you need to be aware that those bookings are not like the ones you book directly with the airlines. They are negotiated pricing that have specific restrictions associated with them. You may never even realize it if you don’t have any problems with the flights or connections. However, if something goes “sideways”, those restrictions may become very evident. As has been said multiples on these boards: Caveat emptor.
  5. At 70+, I typically fly Delta coach on domestic flights and can easily make a 45 minute connection even changing terminals and going from/to gates at the far ends of the terminals unless my flight is late. I’ve always found the plane train to be very efficient. I believe the minimum connection time domestic to domestic is 35 min. in ATL. If I want a longer layover after my flight times have been changed (as long as other flights are available) it’s been very easy to change the flights in the Delta app or by messaging them through the app. The caveat is that other options might include a 4-6 hour layover. My son seems to have better results calling, but has longer response times than I do messaging.
  6. Flew round trip Virgin Atlantic/Delta in Upper Class/Delta One from CHS to LHR about 6 weeks ago for $2200. If I had flown round trip from ATL, I would have paid $3200 and still had to get to ATL and back. Sometimes the short flights save you money;-)
  7. What zdcatc12 said has been true for every flight I’ve been on, BUT the carriers I’ve used are US (Definitely not Turkish Airlines), so I’d check directly with the airline.
  8. Not sure what cruiseline you are traveling on. Royal Caribbean’s guidelines state that if you are not up-to date on vaccinations (booster included unless initial vaccination series less than 270 day old), tests are required for Greek ports at a cost of $55 per person.
  9. Agree there is absolutely no “guarantee” even if they imply there is and I find that round trip tickets are typically not significantly less expensive. The benefit to me is on a one way international flight and the flexibility to change my mind before final payment. I also agree that often frequent flier miles are not associated with these flights; however, that is not always the case. If miles are important, that should be clarified upfront. As has been said on this board many times CAVEAT EMPTOR.
  10. The question asked by twangster is valid. I have been able to change flights for up to 2 days before the original flight at no cost THEY change your flight by 30 minutes or more. The caveat is that the origination and destination airports remain the same. It also looks like you are planning to fly through ATL in the height of hurricane season, so I would keep that in mind.
  11. It’s interesting that when you use the calculator, it comes up with a 50 lb. limit, but in the “Weight Limits by Class of Service” about an inch below, it says the following: United Business® United First® United Polaris® business class 70 pounds (32 kilograms) No wonder the customer support agents can’t give a consistent answer!!!!
  12. Thanks for your comment. I checked back on this and it looks like the terms and conditions were updated Jan. 1, 2022. It also references a few other restrictions/changes I don’t recall seeing before. I typically book Delta using my card, but you might have saved my some headache if I didn’t in the future!!
  13. Interesting. Wonder if that’s a recent change. Last Christmas, a total of 5 of us on the same reservation got the first bag free based on my having the benefit. The reservation was booked by another person and paid for with a non AMEX card. Before the flight, I messaged Delta to enquire about getting the first bag free and was told that as long as I was actually traveling on the reservation and my frequent flyer account was listed I would get the free bag for up to 6 people on the reservation. All 5 of us actually got our 1 checked bag free. Just as info, I have a Delta Gold card through AMEX.
  14. If the question is regarding a Delta co-branded AMEX, the “first bag free” is awarded based on your SkyMiles number. To get the first bag free (for up to 6 people on the same reservation), you have to make sure your frequent flyer/SkyMiles account number is associated with the reservation number. The Delta co-branded AMEX card does not have to be used to pay for the flight; of course, there are additional perks if it is 😉
  15. Thanks so much for the info Globaliser and FlyerTalker.
  16. I’m currently booked (through Delta) in “Upper” class on a VA flight in mid August to LHR. Because of flight changes, I now have the option of moving to a Delta flight in Delta One. Is there a significant difference between service on these 2 airlines? The VA flight is on a Boeing 787-9 through JFK with a 4.5 hour layover while the Delta flight would be on a 757 through ATL with a 2.5 hour layover. Thanks for your opinions.
