  1. FYI. From the Royal Gazette https://www.royalgazette.com/health/news/article/20220525/government-cannot-afford-to-drop-ta-form-senate-told/
  2. Here is the Bermuda governments explanation on why they can’t drop the form. It was published a few minutes ago. https://www.royalgazette.com/health/news/article/20220525/government-cannot-afford-to-drop-ta-form-senate-told/
  3. You could walk to Tobacco Bay or Fort St. Catherine but most will take a taxi. The other places you cawould take a bus or taxi to. I recomend a taxi. St. George itself is very walkable. You might do walking tour. They do them out of the Vsitors Information Centre. At noon in the Town Square they duck a wench. I was on Insignia in August 2019 and most passengers were not the demographic to do much walking. On that sailing I took a taxi to Clearwater Beach. I also took a taxi to the Swizzle Inn.
  4. Bermuda is not a Caribbean island. Most islands in the Caribbean don't have public buses and ferries. Some islands are colonies and get funds from the mother country. The UK does not fund the Bermuda budget. I am sure many of those islands are desperate for cruise ships. Bermuda sees them more as a supplement. No one is forced to go to Bermuda. You are welcome to go to all those iCaribbeanslands with the same shops in every port.

That would be Snorkel Park. Definitely third rate. Have you been to Horseshoe Bay? Horseshoe is beautiful. It is popular but if you go early and go all the way east it is less crowded on that end.
  6. Ana Luna does cats on the east end. They operate out of Grotto Bay which is about 15 minutes from St. George’s by bus or taxi. https://analunaadventures.com From St. George’s besides the town I go to the beach. Tobacco Bay or Clearwater Beach/Coopers Reserve, Fort St. Catherine. Swizzle Inn. Some go to the Crystal Caves. All DIY.
  7. There is no cheap way. The only way would be a taxi. Plus they have a surcharge on Sunday. They would be difficult to find in Hamilton on Sunday at midnight. What are you planning to do then in Hamilton? Everything will be closed Sunday evening. Do you know someone who lives there? They could try and call you a taxi. There is a taxi app called Hitch. You could try getting a taxi with the app.

They are renovating. That is why the dining is closed. None could have been there recently. The hotel just reopened. The last day passes were in 2019 before Covid. The day passes for this season just opened.
  9. The post office in St. George’s is easy to find. It is on Water St. About half way towards the town square. It would only take you a couple of minutes to check and see if they have them.
  10. The roads in Bermuda are narrow, winding and have no shoulders. They drive on the other side in Bermuda. The roads have not been maintained in the greatest shape the last few years. I have seen fellow cruise passengers that rented scooters onboard afterwards with injuries. I have seen near accidents. I know someone who rented one who broke her pelvis. I read the local Royal Gazette and even local residents who are familiar with the roads are getting injured and killed every week on scooters.
  11. The company that was awarded the concession by bid over Rum Bum has taken it over.
  12. They didn’t say anything because all you needed for that sailing was a valid passport.
  13. They choose to use Go To Webinar so they are responsible.
  14. Absolutely correct. I just got an email from them saying that many had problems and that I can watch it by June 7 and get the points.
  15. The issue was Celebrity’s. The problem was at their end. I have a 1 gigabyte fiber connection. Getting 940 mbps from my router and I had the black page about a minute in.
  16. It is used to fund the response to Covid 19. Testing and vaccination. Relief for impacted businesses. To maintain the bus and ferry system. Bermuda was heavily impacted. Bermuda is a small island with one hospital not a large industrial country. Their budget had an unexpected shortfall because of Covid 19. The port taxes were set before the pandemic. That is why I don’t call the $40 which is to increase revenue a money grab. It is a tax increase without calling it that but it is absolutely needed by them to sustain services. My objection to the TA was the process. It caused a lot of stress. The modifications should go a long way in alleviating that. It won’t entirely because a lot of cruise passengers like to see complications that are not there. If I was Bermuda I would call it a electronic visa and collect the $40 without the form. The US has an electronic authorization and the EU will have one too that US citizens will have to complete and pay a fee.
  17. You don't need six months for those sailings. Don't stress out.

    Day passes

I think it is pretty recent. I would be surprised if any cruisers are successful in getting a day pass there but you never know. Pompano is a pretty nice place, always booked up and has no reason to offer them. Elbow Beach was mostly closed up before it closed completely, a failed property to plenty of space on the beach for day passes. Coco Reef was also in decline. Some people seem desperate for day passes which in my opinion don't make much sense in Bermuda. I have bought day passes on some islands where getting them made sense.
  19. They don't sell the ticket books at the Visitor Information Centers. They are not available at the Dockyard. They are sold at the Hamilton Bus Terminal, Hamilton Ferry Terminal and at post offices.

Pompano Beach Resort does a limited number based on availabilty but usually they don't have any iavailability in the summer season. Their priority is acomodating their hotel guests. You can inquire but no more than four days in advance.
  21. Yes. Most taxis now fit 7.
  22. A mobility scooter or a moped?
  23. Not really wanting to go off topic but I will anyway. The Bermuda government imagines that their cruise tourists from the northeast are wealthy. Over the years I have seen a number of statements to that effect from some of their government officials. So they think the fee is not a problem for cruise passengers. Their tourists who fly in stay at hotels that charge very high rates per day in season so they consider Bermuda to be high end destination. I don't think they want people to come who would have a problem with the fees. For years they would not let Carnival in as they did not like their image.
  24. The changes to the process are more important than the cost. The previous process was causing s great deal of stress and aggravation. I don't think there was anything wrong with the title or any need for more precision.
  25. There is no admission fee. It is a public beach. The main changes are that the concessionaire has been allowed to put some rubber floats in the water. The float actually moves. I will post a few photos from 2 years ago. The is not as large as it looks in the photo. The wide angle lens distorts it. There is a pool table. The area to the right is still decent snorkeling. I don't think the snorkeling has changed much. I snorkeled there the first time over 20 years ago and many times since.
