  1. On their Instagram it says they were opening May 4 for the season. I can see it on the Port Webcam.
  2. Even though there are no signs removing it is not allowed. The policy is for all of Bermuda.
  3. Reagan National has an America store and another store for the DC area featuring DC, Maryland and Virginia.
  4. In Texas both US and Texas flags are everywhere. It has to do withTexas with Texas being a republic before it was a state. My condo has both a US flag and a Texas flag on the roof. Back east in Maryland we had no flags flying on the roof. On Royal cruises out of Texas it is a good marketing move.
  5. I figured the reduced schedule was going to lead to that. At the end of the month when the Bermudian returns to service I hope they can add back the later return run.
  6. That is why I have been mentioning the steps in the many threads that ask about the caves. I went a second time to see Fantasy cave which had been closed the first time I went. I got to do Crystal again because people were bailing and someone who bailed gave me their ticket. Anyone who has mobility issues should not do the caves but most people can do them. It is a moderate activity, not extreme. I could still do them although I see no reason to do either again.
  7. It is in guided groups only. Both caves are small so there is a limit to the number who can go in. It is only about 20 minutes so not excruciating. They are recommending making reservations.
  8. I have served but not sure yet what I will do when I have the option. I don’t have the age yet to get an age exclusion. I was recently summoned, postponed the date, rescheduled, and then a day or two before got an email I would not be needed. I have been stressed every time I received a jury summons because of upcoming travel so I can see opting out permanently as reasonable since I have answered all jury summons and served on a jury.
  9. government statement said Monday: “The Bermudian, which can carry 700 passengers, has been refitted and will return to service at the end of this month. [There will be] added weekday ferry services to St George to provide an additional 1,100 seats to Hamilton and St George compared to last year.” FYI. That is from a Gazette article today. I did not post it as a separate topic because some of it might confuse people but feel free too. 😀. https://www.royalgazette.com/local-business/business/article/20240507/tensions-over-transport-cruise-policy/
  10. Here it is automatic if requested over 75. If you don't request it you will be in the jury pool. I believe once requested then the exclusion from the pool is permanent from then on.
  11. Horseshoe Bay, Tobacco Bay and Clearwater have chairs and umbrella rentals. Some others sometimes in the summer June to September. If the day is windy the beaches won't rent umbrellas for safety reasons.
  12. In post #9 OP says that it is a closed loop cruise to Bermuda. What more details would be needed. Seems pretty clear.
  13. We do know it would have been sufficient. The cruise is a closed loop cruise to Bermuda.
  14. They could have used their valid passport because it had not expired or a Birth Certificate but many people get panicked by the cruise lines unhelpful wording. The only problem with using a birth certificate like your family is if there is an emergency and someone in your family has to fly back. Can’t fly back with a birth certificate. If you have done 5 cruises and plan more it really is time for family to get a passport. There is a whole world of cruising beyond closed loop cruises.
  15. I think you meant stairs. I think people will be okay with sneakers with rubber soles. Flip flops might be problematic. If anyone gets claustrophobic they might want to skip. Really though the only people I would advise to not do the caves are people with knee or hip problems.
  16. If you have been to caves in Kentucky you might be underwhelmed. Much smaller than east coast caves. I was but Crystal Cave is small and interesting. The tour guides provide good stories. Fantasy Cave is pretty meh in my opinion. You don't have to do both.
  17. Sneakers are fine.
  18. TripAdvisor (sorry Cruise Critic) is wrong. Calico Jacks is open. They do close in the off season but I can tell from the port cam they are open now.
  19. Up to 7 can fit in a taxi. I am assuming you are docking at the Dockyard, There are two other possible docks so my info is based on making that presumption. Plenty of taxis available at the Dockyard. The caves are at the other end of Bermuda. The fares just increased so I had to do math but a taxi direct would possibly be $90. We usually take a ferry to St. George or Hamilton and then a taxi which mean $5 per person for the ferry to St. George and for 5 about $35 to the area where the caves are. The Swizzle Inn is there. Maybe $45 from Hamilton if you take the ferry there then a taxi. Sorry all taxi fares are math since they raised them April 1 and so I have not taken any rides with the new rates or found a cheat sheet. You could also take a bus from St. George or Hamilton. Be advised that the caves are 88 steps down and 88 steps back up. If any of your family has mobility issues they might have difficulty.
  20. When I took an Uber from Newark Penn it was less expensive than a taxi but Uber fares might have gone up. The taxi fare was a flat rate about $50 so it could be looked up. I took taxis before Uber existed so I don’t know the current taxi rate. Uber was a lot less, $25 but rates could have changed
  21. You should have gotten double points for the no show. Did you call Crown and Anchor and ask for them? If you didn’t you can still call.
  22. I don't think Bermuda would allow that plus the lifeguards on the ship would not be properly trained for Bermuda conditions like Man o Wars. What NCL could do is subsidize Bermuda extending their lifeguard season at Horseshoe. Or they could just warn passengers that there are no lifeguards at Horseshoe until May 1. All the south shore beaches can have rip tides so there could be a general warning lifeguards or not. Most of the time I have not felt strong currents at Horseshoe but conditions change. The worst current I encountered was once at Elbow Beach and there won't be lifeguards there at any time.
  23. You need to reduce your file size below 1MB. There are various ways to do that depending on file format and what devices you use.
  24. The parade is at 7:30 and there are ferries at 8:30, 9:00 and 10:30 so no need to miss the parade. I have taken the 9 and 10:30 ferries with no issues. The last time I took the 9 and it was not overcrowded. When I took the 10:30 ferry they had an extra ferry so the ferry was not crowded. Don''t know if they still do that. Also the most interesting thing in the parade is the dancers. So you only need to watch them for 10 to 15 minutes and then can go get a drink, food or catch a return ferry. If you have been before like you have skipping Harbour Nights is logical.
