  1. Exactly. If the porter lugs my bags out to a parking lot at debarkation I want to give a tip. I asked them to do it.
  2. As a volunteer for Google do you usually give advice when you don’t know the answer? Why would anyone volunteer for a trillion dollar company? Why are you bringing up VPNs? Do you know why people use a VPN?
  3. Your Apple Watch won’t be counted as a second device on the WiFi. It does not log in. Only the phone logs in. Also if you have a cellular version it does not roam. You don’t have to worry about the watch. You should have your phone in Airplane mode but with WiFi on to use the premium WiFi. Airplane mode will prevent you from connecting to cellular at sea onboard. You don’t want that but you want WiFi. So airplane mode with WiFi on.
  4. You firmly believe does not make it a fact. Really it was the woman who took the wrong bags fault. She picked up the wrong bag and gave it to the porter. Why do you expect the porter to check the tags? If she had any question she should have checked.
  5. Mistakes like that are going to happen. That is why I buy insurance. I don’t see what tipping has to do with it.
  6. My Apple Notes and other documents are in iCloud so if I lose my phone I can access them from a computer or tablet but I always take two passport photocopies with me when I travel and carry one on my person. In addition to the digital files it is advisable in my opinion to have a paper copy.
  7. November through February are the roughest seas but that does not mean they will necessarily be rough. Last year was a bad year and there were a some sailings that could not enter the channel and dock in Bermuda because of high winds.
  8. I seriously doubt it. That is not how either program awarded points. I have been cruising on Royal since 1995 and Celebrity since 1996.
  9. It is winter season in Bermuda. It is not tropical. Expect pleasant temperatures in the upper 60’s or low 70’s. Perfect for golf. It won’t be beach weather. A lot of beach concessions close and don’t reopen until April.
  10. On their website they say they will be open all winter 2023. Last year they were open when there was a cruise ship in Bermuda. https://www.tobaccobay.bm/
  11. You don't need a cruise line excusion for Mount Dalsnibba. We took a taxi up and the driver waited for us and took us back down.
  12. More likely that Royals benefits will be cut back. Something is happening there with the Diamond lounges being renamed Crown lounges. They are laying the groundwork for changes.
  13. Wheels and handles take up space weight. I would not get under seat bags with wheels. My under-seat bag hangs on my roller carry on bag or can be carried as a backpack. I think that is a better option.
  14. If you are only going to buy one then option 2 so you will be covered for international flights. Personally I have both, one for domestic flights and one for international flights.
  15. From the Hamilton ferry terminal to the caves about $30 overall for 1-4 passengers, From St. Georges ferry dock about $20.
  16. It depends on the policy. In this case it is a moot point as OP did not buy insurance. We mention insurance because OP did not purchase insurance. The cruise industry model is you put down a deposit and you have a specified date to make final payment and after that if you cancel you are penalized an amount up to the whole payment. Both the cruise lines and third parties sell insurance to cover individuals losses from trip delays or medical emergencies etc. Some policies are cancel for any reason. Cruise lines don't operate on a you can cancel anytime for any reason model. They excpect customers to buy insurance. Some roll the dice and don't insure to save money. Cruise lines must hire employees and stock supplies based on bookings. They expect customers to buy insurance. Since the OP did not insure their trip their only recourse is to appeal to the good will of the cruise line. Several have posted here an email address to appeal to for a refund or other mitigation. The cruise line does not have to do anything for OP but they might. It does not hurt to ask.. I hope that the cruise line gives them a refund or a FCC but I won't predict an outcome.
  17. Whether insurance would cover depends on the type of policy. If not cancel for any reason probably insurance would not cover because flights have resumed into and out of Israel. So OP is able to fly. Insurance is not going to pay out for empathy reasons and Royal Caribbean probably not for sensitivity or empathy reasons if appealed to when OP can fly to the cruise. OP not wanting to go now because of what happened is not going to be a good enough reason.
  18. The travel industry and cruise lines are known not to have flexibility. You are supposed to buy insurance and encouraged to do so. You did not buy insurance. You are not supposed to wait until just before the trip. You should have bought insurence before or at final payment. Second you booked with an online travel agency which is just a booking agent that is not a full service travel agency. I would never book with the company you booked with. They are known only as order takers. If you want to appeal to sensitivity I suggest emailing the CEO. Some have had luck with that. I don't have the email address but some who have participated n this thread have it and will probably post it. There is still time to recieve a different answer than you have so far.
  19. My impression from what OP posted is that they are flying from the region which affects their flights. They only mention a travel agent. I would suggest that it might be escalated to executive offices at RC.
  20. Obviously rum and coke. The Elite benefit is limited. It is not for fancy or premium drinks. If you want fancy or premium drinks pay for them. What I usually order from using the Elite benefit is beer or gin and tonic. They make gin and tonics with Beefeater which is a decent gin. There is no loophole unless you have found a server who you can smooze something better by bribing with good tips. But instead of doing that you could just pay for the rum drink you want.
  21. Princess was the worst for that. Seemed like they y upgraded almost everyone and a lot of the upgrades were problematic because they had a lot of categories and the upgrades were mainly location. We had to put ourself on a no upgrade list b
  22. The feature is only available in iOS 16 (last years update) or iOS 17. It also has to be enabled in Notes Settings.
  23. To be clear it is the individual note that is locked. I keep all the locked notes in a folder. To lock notes on the top right hand corner is a circle with 3 dots. You will have the several options including locking the note. Select lock then you will have the option of using your iPhone passcode to unlock the note or creating a separate password for more security.
