  1. Read an article today from Cruise Weekly that said all Coral Princess cruises departing from Australia will be sailing at full capacity. I thought the first cruises in June were to be at reduced - even just 50%, capacity? Does anyone know the actual answer to this as I can find no reference about it on the Princess Australia Protocols? Or add it to Cbtours β€œto find out” list?
  2. Keep looking at a variety of companies, I’m sure there will be one that treats you like the adult you are πŸ™‚
  3. From memory - viewing the Medallion at check in didn’t need wifi. Though it’s still worth getting Cbtours to confirm this, isn’t it?
  4. We spent a week a few years ago self driving the Scottish Highlands and stayed at a B&B in Kingussie. One night the hosts made me a hot chocolate - it was pure chocolate (no powder) melted over the stove with cream then added to thin it to drinking consistency. It was the most amazing hot chocolate I have ever had πŸ˜‹πŸ’•
  5. Ok - that’s interesting isn’t it.
  6. You have that right, we did get deluges in April, but so did everywhere this year. Seems the past rainy season months of early summer have moved to early winter. πŸ™„ But it is still wonderful to cruise in the rain - and it is much warmer rain than say - in Melbourne at this time of year? 😁
  7. Very easy to read, thankyou πŸ‘ This first cruise will be like a treasure hunt for you both. Finding all our answers. You are a real πŸ’Ž for doing all this for us. And now talk of adding a β€œlive from” you will definitely end up our all time favourite.
  8. I’m not sure that this is right πŸ€” Complimentary usually means free?? If you are travelling with kids, this can be quite important to the overall budget, I would imagine. Cbtours has a list of things to check for lots of us, she is on the 16th departure, perhaps we can ask her to check?
  9. Very rare to get a cyclone up here after April, tho it has happened. From April to late Oct/Nov is the best time to cruise up this way. The humidity virtually disappears, nights usually lowest 12deg, days ranging from 24 to 28 - beautiful one day, perfect the next. We only have two seasons in Nth Qld - 6 mths of β€œ bloody humidity & heat” - 6 mths of β€œjust perfect”. Jump aboard, grab some seasick meds for hubby, (start him before he boards) and enjoy your cruise πŸ‘
  10. I thought hot chocolate, like brewed coffee, is complimentary on Princess, anywhere you can buy coffee you can order a hot chocolate - free 😁 From Princess: ”Sip your favorite espresso-based beverage or tea with the pre-purchase of a specified number of specialty coffees (numbers vary by itinerary) during the voyage of purchase, as well as complimentary brewed coffee and hot chocolate.” (this should apply to your kids too) Avoid that brewed coffee at all costs though 😝
  11. That can go on Cbtours list, but as it is Princess I don’t hold out much hope - have fingers firmly crossed for the USB on the lamp by the bed 🀞
  12. Bring your own sachets. When we go to the buffet, I just grab a cup of hot water and add my own coffee at the table πŸ‘ A little bit of home on a cruise πŸ˜‰
  13. So agree with this 😝 We either buy coffee at International Cafe or order room service tea for in room breakfasts and take our own coffee sachets for first up cuppas. Works a treat - you can get four tea cup size cups of coffee from the hot water thermos at breakfast.
  14. Not on a ship yet, but it does fit comfortably beside other normal Aussie plugs (using the Aus/Japan adaptor) and charged just fine. We always carry our Aus/Euro & Aus/US double adaptors just in case, and bring normal phone charger. So far these have worked on Princess, HAL, P&O Aus & RCI. We travel overseas regularly and have yet to have a problem with these. As to the new gadget - we’ll see on the 26th. These Korjo ones:
  15. Yep it sure is πŸ‘ But we are in a suite and since they put the flat screen tvs on the walls, there are PowerPoints behind where the tvs were, so can use it. (Either Euro or US - US just charges slower). We have a multitude of international adaptors and chargers - I just liked the simplicity of this one.
  16. I got this one from Amazon - it has slide in/out travel plugs as well as a USB port for hubbys 12.9” iPad (USB-C), 2 normal USB ports and one max charge USB (??). Saves the power cord and will try to find a Euro outlet to use it on.
  17. Pain huh? It was a Noordam cruise too that we got the same note about DH’s suitcase - down to Guest Services to get the case out of jail because of …… a suspicious rechargeable shaver πŸ™„ Have no idea what they thought it was on the X-ray machine πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
  18. I’m sure they will - check out Cairns next week, we LOOOOVE this time of year up here!!
