We are in Saint John from 8am to 6pm this Oct. We have rented a car from Enterprise and plan to do the Fundy Trail. I would love some input and suggestions. Our tentative itinerary is: NB-1 straight to Camp Enrage....we will not go as far as Hopewell Rocks....tides are all wrong for us. We will turn around and head back to Alma and drive back through the Fundy N'l Park, entering the Fundy Trail Parkway from there. I have researched the Parkway and have a few spots that we would like to visit. Our walking ability is limited, so no big trail walk for us. We will end in St Martins, check out the sea caves and maybe have a meal at the Caves Restaurant. Then back to Saint John, and if time the reversing tides at Fallsview Park. Has anyone done this? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

We got rooms at the Club Quarters Hotel Faneuil Hall. Looks reasonably close to one of the stops on the Trail.

We have reserved Sydney CB Taxi Tours for our day in Sydney instead of renting a car. Fingers crossed we have nice weather and it works out ok.

We are looking for the same thing in October. We finally settled on Club Quarters Hotel Faneuil Hall, Location looks ok, price was around 400.00, yuck! But we choose the higher price with the free cancelation, We could not find anything cheaper using hotels.com and other such sights, for that area. We have free cancelation, so we will keep looking.

The first time we made reservations, each of us made our own, all at the same time. When we showed up...they had separate tables for all our reservations, and did not have a table to seat us all together. So none of our reservations were honored that trip, we had to get the pager each night and wait for a table large enough for all of us. Since then, one person makes reservations online ahead of the sailing for all members of our party. We have done this many times and have had no issues at all. Always seated at the time of our reservation, always together.

I have not been on RC for some time. I am hearing that cabin service is down to once a day. Up charges are on the DR menu. I am curious about room service. Is it still available for free? We always have ordered coffee, and sometimes breakfast in our room/balcony. Will we be paying for this now?

We are sailing this October, and may not get the drink package......they have gotten rather expensive. I want to make sure I have this right. We are Diamond. So we get 4 drinks a day on our sea card, that we can use anywhere, for any drinks, anytime on the ship? My husband drinks Jack Daniels, and I drink vodka. On Celebrity, he is unable to get Jack with his Elite Plus drink perk.

Sounds like you had a great cruise! Thanks for the reveiw. We are doing the same cruise this December. Just a couple of questions. How does the Elite Happy Hour work? The last several cruises we took we had drink packages and did not use. But we are not getting the packages on this cruise. Is it 3 drinks in any bar on the ship? Only between 5-7? Are there certain drinks you can order? And does it just come off your card? And do you remember what nights were the formal nights? We want to book some specialty restaurants but want to avoid booking on those nights. Thanks,

We are looking to do this in October. I am guessing the boat ride will show some nice fall foliage. Do you book ahead of time? Or do you just go to the dock and buy a ticket? Are there usually long lines?

We have a rental there as well for October. We gave CC info, but no charge till we check in. We did this years ago without issue. Now I am a bit concerned. If anyone does this rental, let us know the outcome? I will do the same.

We have booked them as well for our October trip. A private tour for 4. Let us know how it goes....we will do the same.

Success! We have a car booked with Enterprise. Now to decide our route. It looks like high tide for us everywhere we go. So a little disappointed that we will miss the low tides. Low tides are around 5am and 5 pm. The ship leaves at 6pm.

We just booked our cruise for this fall and we are looking for a tour in Saint John to the reversing falls, Fundy Trail Parkway, etc. Most of what I have found is already booked. So we are thinking of renting a car and driving ourselves. We are 4 adults. Has anyone done this? Are their any rental areas close to the port or would we have to go to the Airport. The airport looks pretty far away, maybe a good 30 minute drive. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

A hotel with a Hop on Hop Off stop close would be perfect.

I have been looking at hotels in Boston....sticker shock! Have not found anything less than around $400 a night. We will pay what we need to, but would prefer to spend on food, not hotels! So we don't need 5 star. Just location. There are 4 of us, so we would need 2 rooms. Thinking about looking for a airbnb.

I love all of the above ideas. We will be there for a couple days pre cruise, no car. Us girls love to walk and are history nuts, so the Freedom Trail is perfect for us. The guys have some mobility issues, so was thinking of hop on hop off bus ride as well, so they can see some of the sites. Any suggestions for a hotel within walking distance of the Freedom Trail and the hop on hop off? Or at least what 'area' we should look at?

Yikes! We will be there the weekend of Oct 7th.

We are booked on a RC cruise out of Boston this October. We will be flying in a day early, to see a bit of the Boston area before embarking on our cruise. We have never been to Boston. Any suggestions for a hotel? Or at least an area that would be appropriate? We will not have a car and will be dependent on Uber. We have lots of Hilton Honor Points, so a Hilton would be nice but not necessary. Thanks
