    This might become a possibility. They create tags at the airport when checking luggage so I do not see why not at the port? It is a possibility.

    When I inquired as to when we could print off luggage tags for our August 8th cruise I was told: "if you had the app you wouldn't need luggage tags."

    Oh my! What a poor response about luggage tags. Someone needs to listen before speaking.

    Luggage tags = paper print out to attach to luggage.

  3. We love the longer cruises.

     

    We find that doing nothing is just as good as doing something on this cruise to Hawaii.

     

    We have done this cruise twice and plan on it again next April on the Grand.

     

    You will enjoy it as everyone is so happy and relaxed.

  4. You have the option of either charging it to your cabin or putting in cash.

     

    I personally take cash and if I run out and want to play a bit more I charge it to the room.

    Then later, I will take the cash I have brought with me and pay the charged amount because I really do not like having a balance on our account. 

     

    It is so easy to spend it in the casino when all you have to do is push the right buttons and its charged to your account. Be careful!

    I do put comments on their YouTube and Facebook page. I think they are listening but they are being so politically correct the answers are soft.

  6. I am one of those that does not do to well with changes.

     

    This is a change that we all have to find our way through and Princess needs to do more videos and dummy them down to help those who feel lost.

     

    My old boss had me read a book called:  Who moved my cheese?

    It is an excellent explanation on how we deal with changes with our different personalities.

     

    I think that this is how a lot of us feel even though Princess for the last 2+ years has told us this was coming. Chees has been moved again and we must find our way together 🙂

  7. I have been watching these "info" videos about the Medallion.

    Last one was a fluff show.

     

    BTW, first subject out ~ you do not have to have your phones or tablets with you to navigate Medallion. You can use the big screens OR (I laughed at this one) get an employee to assist you if you want to lets say order something from the store onboard.

     

    Sigh. I am just wondering how many extra crew they have to have in order to fulfill their promises? Or are the crew going to be doing so much extra "stuff" to help the customers? I do hope this works out but I doubt it. 

     

    Our cruise is not until April 2022 so by then I am sure there will be updates and changes to Medallion with "improvements".  Just my 2 cents.

  9. I have been watching the videos and they make it look too easy. For all of us who have not done a medallion cruise this will be a learning lesson. Its nice the show the comforts of this but I am

    one of those who says "I will believe it when I see it".  

     

    I downloaded the app onto my phone and it has listed a cruise that was cancelled a long time

    ago. If that is any example of how well this programming is going to work, I am not impressed yet.

    Well I downloaded the app and well imagine that! I could log in to the Princess website.

    I think this is what they are trying to get everyone to do.

    Well lets hope the electronic version will have improved. Seems Princess is having all kinds of issues right now 😞

  13. I know. I was scratching my head there for a moment then a light bulb went off! Oh! Gratuities now have a new terminology.  

    Next is a new motto for Princess. Come back new is old. Time for a new one!

  14. We get the LAX transfer every time we cruise.

    Only problem we have (and I'm sure I will hear something about this) is that we have to wait in the airport for a few hours before getting on the bus. There are seats in the airport as well while waiting.

     

    We fly in early in the morning (arrive 7 - 8 am) from Arizona and they actually do not start transferring people until about 10:00 am or later.

     

    Yes they do go through the airport and pick up others but the seats are comfortable. I too have arthritis and do find this to be uncomfortable at all.   We usually go to Starbucks and get a snack and coffee since we know we have a few hours.

  15. If I remember correctly you could go into the electronic version of the patter and mark what you were interested in and it would show up on top (or something like that). Its been a few awhile since we last cruised as well so my memory is not 100%.

     

    I like both paper and electronic. I do not mind too much carrying around my phone as I do it everyday now. These changes could be / should be fun.

  16. When I spoke with my PVP a few months ago, I asked about having our other FCD extended as it was maturing in April 2021.

    She said she could not do anything and maybe someone might contact me to have the date extended. Well I forgot about it and they credited our credit card back for that FCD. Oh well. We will get more the next time we sail.

    So, if you do have a FCD coming due I suggest you call them and see if they will extend it.

    I watched it yesterday. I am hoping that they delve a bit more into how it works. John Padgett made it sound too easy. I am not too concerned as we are not sailing for almost a year out. 

  18. We had 1 FCD of the 2 we had left over. I asked the PVP if this was to expire in April 2020 what were the odds it would be extended? Well she was not sure. She thought they might send an email for the option but they did not.

    It was returned to our credit card 😞

    Guess we will have to start the process all over again on our next cruise.

  20. We were hoping to do Alaska again this year (tried 3 times) but obviously that will not be happening.

     

    Our second choice is Hawaii and we are booked April 2022.  We figure by then life on a cruise ship should be somewhat normal.

     

    I hope to book another near the fall but its a wait and see.

     

    We do have another cruise in January 2023 but on NCL (this will be our first time trying this line).

  21. No you do not have to get off in Mexico.

     

    We have done this cruise twice. The first one we did not get off.

    The second one we did and we were shocked by how much fun we had. We had nothing planned. We thought we would just walk around and stretch our legs.

    Well we got on a "free" bus that went into town and the guy mentioned that for a few $$ we could go to the Blowhole. Well we thought lets give it a try!  Even though the ride was bumpy, this spontaneous trip was a lot of fun. So would we do it again? Maybe or maybe not.
