  1. Are there two rows of beds at South Beach or is there one long row?
  2. I am very much looking forward to your review. My sister and I will be boarding on April 30th!
  3. Thank you @cured. Would you go that route even if the likelihood is that you would need to park at a different terminal and be shuttled to Terminal A? That's the part I don't want to deal with as I've read reports of long waits for the shuttle at both ends of the trip.
  4. Another way to do this is to use a QR code reader to scan the barcode. You can pull up the set sail pass on a computer or tablet and scan the QR code using your phone. Same result.
  5. My sister and I will be sailing on Oasis, departing from Port of Miami on Sunday, April 30. She's flying to MIA and I'll be driving from my home in St. Augustine, FL. The drive is about 4.5 hours on a good day, but can be considerably longer depending on traffic, construction, etc. I initially assumed I'd be driving down on embarkation day, so I chose a port arrival time of 11:30-12:00 for both of us. After reading about construction near the port and seeing reports of the garage at Terminal A filling by 10am, I'm now second guessing my plan. I see three potential options, and I'd love to know what others would do with my set of circumstances. Option 1 Leave my house at about 6am on embarkation day, and drive straight to POM and hope there's still room in the Terminal A garage when I get there. Deal with parking in an alternate garage and taking a shuttle to Terminal A if necessary. (Of course I'd need to deal with that in reverse after disembarking.) Option 2 Drive to Miami the evening before embarkation, stay in a hotel near the airport, and take a taxi or Uber to the port in the morning. In case I go with this option (or the next one), I made a reservation a the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon which I can cancel up to the day before. They charge $17/day for parking. Option 3 Drive down the evening before embarkation, go straight to POM and park in the Terminal A garage, and take a taxi or Uber to the Hampton Inn. Is this even realistic? It's Harmony's turnaround day. The appeal is that my car would be in the garage at Terminal A when I disembark. Am I overthinking this? Probably. But I'd still appreciate opinions! 😁
  6. I also purchased one package and got $100 OBC. Do you think they’ll send another email apologizing for the second glitch and take the extra $50 away?! What would they offer for our trouble this time? 🤣 ETA: I just spent mine. 😁
  7. It's a busy Monday at work and somehow I've managed to spend at least two hours (on and off) reading this thread. I was only planning on reading through page 20, but once I got started I felt compelled to keep going! A few thoughts and a question: 1. I can't get over the food some of you had during your flights! My last flight was on American, and when I asked whether I could have both the Biscoff cookies and the tiny bag of pretzels, I was denied! 2. So what happens if you get to the parking garage at the terminal at POM and it's full? My sister and I just booked a 4-night on Oasis and I probably won't get to POM until 11:30-12:00. 3. Those VIP/Reserved towel clips kill me. They really don't see the problem there?? 4. While we prefer RCI over NCL (by quite a bit), there is one thing they did right on Great Stirrup Cay. We booked a villa at Silver Cove for our day there last May. The villas are air conditioned, nicely furnished (including large TV with free on demand movies), come with butler service, are equipped with an espresso machine and a beverage fridge, AND have full bathrooms with showers. All for $749 (for our sailing). I'm not saying I'd book another NCL cruise to experience that again, but I'm not not saying that. 5. Sea Dog, your food pics from the Beach Club have me rethinking whether I want to cough up the money for our sailing in September. If only the cost weren't $268.99/person. Oh well, this will be our first time at CocoCay, so maybe we're better off experiencing more of the island. I'm enjoying this live report so much. Can't wait for more! (After business hours.)
  8. I second this idea. We loved our visit to Water Island, and lunch at Dinghy's Beach Bar was great! Both the food and the cocktails were delish.
  9. I purchased this for the 4-night Oasis cruise we just booked for late April. The fact that the “package price“ is the same regardless of length of cruise suggests that this was intended to be a daily price for two people. We may in fact end up getting a refund, but it’s worth a shot! ETA: Sorry if I missed it, but does anyone know how much Celebrity charges for this now?
  10. We sailed on Breakaway last May. We enjoyed the cruise overall, but we didn’t love the ship. The following were negatives for us: -Smoke smell emanating from the casino -Lots of smoking and strong smoke smell in Spice H20 (which was an area we had hoped to utilize) -Very small pool area and extremely crowded pool deck -Congestion/crowding in several of the key public areas. This ship didn’t do as good a job spreading people out as some other large ships we’ve been on. -Lack of information, especially about disembarking in ports (huge cluster on our sailing) The kicker is that we were told our sailing was at 75% capacity I can’t even imagine what it would’ve been like if it had been closer to 100%!
  11. How does this work? We’ll be staying in a CLS on Harmony later this year and I’m interested in trying this once for dinner. Where do we find the menu? In the app? Do they bring all courses at the same time?
  12. Here is the list of Sky class perks from Royal's website, including notes specific to Spectrum: And here is a link to the page, which also includes the Sea and Star class perks: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-royal-suite-class
  13. I've already switched to 1764 for that reason. 🙂 I'll keep checking to see whether any other side-facing rooms open up.
  14. My understanding from looking at photos and videos is that you have to be near the railing and look forward to see the window washing equipment. If we’re sitting in the lounge chairs looking straight out, I don’t think we’ll see it. In any case, it’s either this or one of the crown lofts that face aft, and we don’t want one of those.
  15. Thanks orville. Is the interior square footage of 1702 and 1764 the same, as far as you could tell?
  16. Yes, and 1702 and 1764 both have slightly obstructed views and smaller balconies. I just called to switch to 1764 and will continue to watch for others to pop up. The rep I spoke with said I can switch to another room within the same category with no extra cost up until 2 days before sailing.
  17. Thanks for sharing the video and photo, rockmom. The balconies do look the same size – plenty big enough for us! So it’s just a matter of whether we’re better off sharing a wall with CK or the suite lounge... unless one has more interior square footage than the other.
  18. Thanks loman. I picked 1702 because, on the deck plan, it looks like the balcony is bigger. I figured I'd be sharing a wall with either CK or the suite lounge. You have a point that there would probably be less noise from this suite lounge, though.
  19. Hello! DH and I are sailing on Harmony in early September to celebrate a milestone anniversary. We decided to splurge and book a CLS, and we're really excited as we've never sailed in one. We did sail once in an ATS on Allure and we loved the experience (especially the amazing balcony), but it'll be nice to be on deck 17 this time! I found it interesting that, for this particular sailing, the price for a CLS was exactly the same as that for a GS. I'm not sure how unusual that is. The only Crown Lofts showing as available are all of the the ones that face aft + 1702 and 1764. All of the other side-facing CLs are showing as booked/unavailable. I guess I find that hard to believe, and I'm wondering whether the relatively low pricing is a reflection of the less-than-ideal locations. My questions: 1. If those were your choices, which would you pick? I chose 1702, but I keep second guessing. In general, we'd prefer a side-facing CLS, but the location of 1702 and 1764 are not ideal. 2. I'll keep checking the RCI site to see whether any others pop up, but I'm wondering whether I would be able to switch without incurring any additional cost. Let's say the price does go up. Will I be charged the prevailing rate for this "lateral" move? FWIW, the deck plan for Harmony shows all the CLSs as L1. Thanks for any insight!
  20. Thanks for a great review, Sid. You are my favorite germaphobic, hard drinking, serious eating cruise reviewer. Looking forward to your next review!
  21. I just returned from a land trip to Grand Cayman. I can confirm that Evrima was anchored for a short time just off the coast in front of the Ritz Carlton hotel on Thursday, 2/2. We were staying at the condo community next door. Two men in suits were being filmed on the beach with the ship in the background. There were drones flying overhead for security. One of the men was taken back out to the ship, which then sailed away.
  22. Hello! I just received an email notifying me that the itinerary for our 8/27/23 Med cruise has changed. (Those emails are seldom good!) The Mykonos stop was replaced with Athens. While some may not be bothered by this change, it's a big deal to us. We've been to Athens and chose this itinerary because 3 of the 4 ports (including Mykonos) were new for us. Now 2 of the 4 are repeats. We also had a really fun independent tour booked for Mykonos. My question: We booked a nonrefundable deposit. If we decide to switch to a different cruise, will they waive the change fee since there has been a substantial (to us) itinerary change? I'll try calling RCI after work today, but I was wondering whether anyone here has had experience with this. Thank you!
  23. I’m enjoying your report so far and looking forward to more! We’ve sailed a handful of times on both Disney and NCL, so I’m interested in the comparisons.
