  1. Thinking your TA will be able to still do a courtesy hold, at least the TA's in the 500 status.

I've never used a TA, so I didn't ask specifically about them. I only asked if the number of cabins or loyalty level mattered and was told that there were to be no exceptions regarding holds on the specific ships earmarked for the beginning of the phase-in.

  2. This is going to suck for folks who use a TA that's closed on Sundays. A lot of sales happen on weekends and if you can't get a hold of your TA and there's no hold anymore, you are forced prior to final payment to book with RCI or miss out. Hmm.... now that I think of it, I wonder how many holds happen after final payment.

If that was their logic, they would only be eliminating holds on cruise cabins that are past final payment.

  3. What is the casino rate? Are you a member of m life or just a big roller? Just curious.

Casino Rates are given to players who are members of Casino Royale. I am not sure if MLife players get their rates via Casino Royale or through MLife directly.

I don't consider myself to be a "big roller" and was surprised when I was asked into the Club several years ago.

  4. Wound up placing a deposit on the D2's for the B2B. Will see tomorrow when Casino Royale desk opens up what the rates are for both the D2 cabins and the JS cabins and either switch the booking to a JS casino rate or just get the casino rate for the D2's.

Being able to place a hold would have simplified the process. Am sorry to see that option disappear.

  5. Maybe this is why. Maybe they've got hundreds if not thousands of cabins tied up overnight on regular basis and have determined a high percentage aren't booked the next day.

I was looking to book a B2B on one ship. Wanted to place a hold on either a D2 cabin or a JS for those sailings, so four cabins in all until tomorrow morning when the Casino desk opens whereupon I was definitely booking one cabin type or the other. I was willing to put a deposit on either the Js's or the D2s but wanted a hold on the other cabin class until I could see what would be the better deal via the Casino. I think they could have been more accommodating, given that I have never placed a hold and was willing to put a deposit down.

  6. Just got off the phone with the D+ desk at C&A because I wanted to place a courtesy hold on several cabins for different sailings until I could reach the Casino desk tomorrow. He said that RC is phasing out courtesy holds starting with several of their ships and that it will be going fleet wide shortly. They transferred me to the consumer sales desk to see if they would make an exception. They said "no." :(

  7. Some ships do the tickets. That is how it was on my Baltic cruise, but my allure cruise was a sticker.

Both my friend and I are Casino VIPs and play slots exclusively. Last month when we were on the Oasis and given our stickers by the casino host Adrian, I noted for the first time a difference between my sticker and my friends.

Mine was as it has always been but my friends was slightly larger and had a gold star emblazoned on hers. I average around 6K points for a 7 day cruise; she averages around 33K.

Both of us wondered if the difference between our stickers was a preview of the tiers to come. My sticker did not seem to affect the drinks I normally get while in the casino. When we asked Adrian, he skirted the question.

  8. These questions may seem silly but as I don't drink milk or use it in my coffee, I have never taken notice of it. Am taking grandkids on cruise this summer aboard Liberty, and need to know about the availability of milk onboard.

Is it free or do I need to purchase a drink package and, if necessary, which one?

What is the availability: MDR, Windjammer, cafes, bars?

  9. I have never been on an Oasis class ship and it's been a long time since I have embarked on RC out of Fort Lauderdale. That being said, if someone could bring me up-to-date on the following as I am booked on the Oasis for a May 2 embarkaton, it would be most appreciated:

Are there priority check-in and boarding lines for Diamond Plus? I am in a balcony cabin.

Is there a separate area in the theatre for Diamond Plus? I have reservations made.

Is the Concierge Lounge still available for Diamond Plus?

Anything else I should know regarding the ship and loyalty perks that are different aboard her as opposed to other ships?

    Thanks.

  10. Yes its gone

No partnership shown and no notification from RC about cancelling the partnership. I have 1.6M loyalty chips and was hoping to book a cruise in the future. Am not a Vegas person, so I don't know what I am going to do with all those chips now. Very disappointed. :-(

I wonder if RC will reinstate the offers.

  11. I will say 7648 could be noisy. not from the hallway traffic or the elevators. That 'phantom noise" others have posted about. I used a white noise app on my phone to sleep several nights.

I have been in cabin 7648 on the Quantum twice so far and haven't heard any noise. I liked it so much I booked the same cabin for a B2B Anthem in 2016.

The balcony is wonderful: the back half is always shady and the front half can be very sunny or just bright depending on the sun's position.
