  1. Those are gorgeous!! Where did you get them? Although....I love heels but these days I mostly wear wedges or platforms, more comfortable.
  2. I have saved the website as bookmark to go back later after I've lost the weight. I'm usually a size 6 (or was) but put on a lot of weight and now working to get it off. I've always been a dress girl !! I think they can be more comfortable than pants. Pockets make them perfect! Someplace to stick my chapstick/lipstick. What is that hat that goes with the dress? I saved your website on hats too.
  3. Slidergirl, I just looked at the website for River & Sky - love some of the dresses there. They are pricey but I love the look and POCKETS!
  4. Slidergirl, I agree with you about not wanting to looking "matronly". I just turned 60 but I still want to look feminine and pretty without looking "senior" or just as bad, like I'm trying to look too young. I have way too many cocktail dressy dresses that I don't wear. These days, I am a fan of casual dresses that can transition from day wear to evening with jewelry/wraps etc. Most of my dresses are maxi length which I prefer. CHICOS - especially from their travel line, these dresses don't wrinkle and travel well and roll into nothing. I find that dresses are more comfortable and cooler than wearing pants. And unless I'm doing a real adventurous excursion like zip-lining or kayaking, a dress works just fine.
  5. I posted about my love of the Travelon purse, but after reading many posts on pickpocketing issues in certain areas of Europe, I agree that might be best to utilize one of the wallets that can go underneath your clothing when traveling in those areas. I use the smaller Travelon cross body purse at home all the time, it is my every day purse. And I have the larger Travelon cross body too. But rethinking whether I'd use either if traveling in Rome or other heavily pickpocket areas of Europe. Now I will purchase something under the clothing.
  6. Have you tried wearing a wedge or platform shoe? I can wear a high "heel" when it is a wedge or platform. I do NOT wear a traditional pump any longer. Even if I was younger (I just turned 60), I would still wear the wedge or platform shoe - they are much more comfortable. Michael Kors makes some pretty wedge sandals in different colors. I have them in a soft gold/beige, red, black and will usually bring the gold colored on a cruise that goes with all my dresses.
  7. Yes! I love planning and picking out clothes for my trips and only wish I could travel MORE. Once I discovered wedge and platform shoes, I never went back to the traditional pump. I can wear a high "heel" b/c it doesn't feel like that with the wedge or platform. I've got a soft beige/gold color, black, and red too. Michael Kors used to make more wedge/platform sandals that I loved, but I don't see them in as many colors right now, and I wish there were more in the gold family - that color can be so soft and pretty and a real workhorse. I've also found a couple of pretty reversible dresses that are perfect for a cruise. Wish I could find more. But I wear the same dress at least twice and will pair it with a scarf one time, different the next etc. to change up the look.
  8. Someone above posted about a Travelon purse - which I own as my every day purse at home and love it! By the way, I only want to travel with a crossbody purse. So much easier and I do not want anything like a backpack type purse on my back. I also have this one below for any trips abroad if I wanted something just a little bigger. Love this one too and comes in black, teal, taupe and grey: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792LSHDP/ref=twister_B0792LBN1Z?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
  9. I've gone on 3 cruises that were 7-8 nights with 4 pairs of shoes including the pair I wore on the plane. ) 1. Sneakers (worn on plane) I always bring/wear a pair of sneakers for working out/walking or jogging on the ship, and also good for some excursions. 2. Sandals for evening: Usually a pair of Michael Kors in sand/gold that go with everything. I only wear a chunky heel/wedge these days. 3. Sandals for day wear/excursions 4. Water shoes - I have a pair of beloved Merrell "barefoot" shoes that are so comfy, lightweight and CUTE! discontinued and wish I'd bought a second pair I was able to put 3 pairs in my carry-on luggage with my clothing. My toiletries/3-1-1 bag goes in my personal bag/tote. I always wear the heaviest pair which is usually the sneakers. I read a lot of posts by women saying they need more than one pair of dressy shoes, but I don't know why! Coordinate your dresses so that one pair of shoes will work with all of them. I love gold/sand color as that goes with all my summery dresses. I love a heel but only wear heels that are stacked/wedge. No pump with severe angle and no support. I love to dress up on trips for dinner/evening. I love getting "down and dirty" on excursions and then coming back and playing dress up for dinner. 🙂
  10. Hi, we have never taken a Viking trip and are looking at the Viking Rhine Getaway trip. What are everyone's thoughts on purchase the trip insurance offered through Viking or getting trip insurance on your own? Thanks!
  11. I am looking for the Viking RIVER cruise on this forum, and only see Viking Ocean. Does anyone know where I can find the Viking River destinations? We are looking at booking the RHINE GETAWAY on Viking and have some questions about Viking.
