  1. @DaniDanielle belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! We returned home last night from our quick trip to Disney for race weekend. As expected, Cristina finished the full 26.2 mile run, her first full marathon. Jessica’s goal was to make it from the starting point in Epcot to the Magic Kingdom which is 10 miles and she was able to do that. Not bad for being almost 5 months pregnant. Ali’s goal was to beat per personal best of 13.1 miles; she made it to mile 17 before dropping out. A few pictures from the weekend. My girls, 5:01 am on race day The finisher and her family Andy and I with the grandkids Me with the youngest granddaughter (Ali in the background) 4 of the 5 grandkids Celebratory dinner at The Boathouse in Disney Springs Now we’re home to the cold and snow 🙁.
  2. Ours is Feb 19th and while we’ve not impacted much by Valentines Day, it’s a tough time to travel as it’s usually Feb school vacation week so prices are through the roof.
  3. It’s currently sailing from Port Canaveral. @h20skibum I hope you’ll continue posting from Allure. Our February cruise will be our first time on her so curious to hear your thoughts. Congrats on reaching D+. Latest forecast for our area has 6-12” of snow from Saturday night through Sunday. I’m a little sad we’re missing the first storm (sorry @Ocean Boy). It would’ve been nice to hunker down and watch football all day.
  4. I’m finally getting caught up after a busy week, well actually a few weeks including the holidays. I got all the Christmas decorations put away this week. Why does it seem to take twice as long to put them away as it does to bring them out and decorate? Different mindset, I guess. We are on our second Samsung TV and have been pretty happy with both. The first one lasted nearly 10 years, we only replaced it for a bigger one when we moved to this house in 2017. Our Samsung refrigerator is fine but has that mysterious ice maker issue, where it just randomly stops working. Andy wanted the one with the electronics and computer screen, supposedly we’re going to watch TV on it or listen to music. We’ve had the fridge about 3 years now and neither of those things has happened. We also have a Samsung dishwasher, it’s just okay. Tomorrow morning we fly to Orlando to spend 3 nights at Walt Disney World. Our daughters are running in the marathon Sunday morning, so we’re all going to show our support. In actuality, only Cristina has a chance to finish as she’s the only one who’s actually trained for it. Jessica will be at a very slow pace, mostly fast walking, due to her pregnancy. Ali hasn’t really trained at all but she has completed half marathons before so she will also end up a combination of walking and running. It sounded like a great idea many months ago when they registered, LOL. When we get home, I need to buckle down and figure what we’re doing next month prior to our two cruises. We’re on Allure 4 night, 2/26 then right onto Adventure 8 night, 3/1. We want to spend several days before somewhere in FL and probably a few days after as well. We’re driving so we have plenty of flexibility. Safe travels to everyone flying or driving this weekend and Bon Voyage to those cruising!
  5. A very quiet New Year’s Eve for us here in RI. Chili is on the menu along with a new recipe for chicken wings. They’re brined in sweet tea, then baked with a dry spice mix. Currently watching a little football and later we’ll watch a few episodes of Suits which we just started. Tomorrow we’ll have dinner at Jess & Sam’s house. I wish you all a Happy New Year🍾!!
  6. I know Christmas is officially behind us, but we’re still celebrating with various family members. We hosted Christmas Eve, just 6 adults and two little ones. A few pictures from that night. This is Jess, Sam, Abby and Ellie (with baby brother to be, all tucked away) Abby with Nana & Papa The beef ready to carve Nana with Abby & Ellie Christmas Day we had brunch at Jess & Sam’s, but no photos. Yesterday we drove down to PA for a quick overnight to celebrate Christmas with Cristina and her family. Traffic was terrible in both directions, but worth it to see them. Here’s Nana playing Santa with Will, Teddy and Andrew. And finally, tomorrow we drive up to Rensselaer NY to take Andy’s Mom to lunch and exchange gifts with her. Three hours up and 3 hours home - if we’re lucky. I already feel like I picked up something from one of the boys. Today I just feel tired and achy all over with no appetite. It’ll be a game day call tomorrow morning if I go because I certainly don’t want to get my 87 yr old MIL sick. I’m also going to test tomorrow before leaving, just to be safe for her. We have no plans for New Year’s and I’m okay with that! What’s everyone doing? (aside from those who are on vacation of course)
  7. Have a safe and wonderful trip! I’m really looking forward to your thoughts and comparison to a cruise. @Ourusualbeach Ken I hope you and your family have a great trip also! And drive carefully - we’ve had terrible fog in the Northeast the past several days.
  8. I’ve enjoyed following along. Isn’t it a great feeling to disembark knowing the vacation continues instead of having to head home? I hope you’ll post some of the family adventure over on Dani’s thread. BTW, Daryl needs his own fan club 🙂. First we had Bella, now Daryl!
  9. @Husky1987 what a wonderful story Larry. Truly the spirit of Christmas in what you all did for Cindy and her family. @mo&fran excellent news! @Sea Dog please extend belated birthday wishes to Linda from Andy and I. I want to add my wishes for everyone here to have a very Merry Christmas however you spend the holiday 🎄🤶!!
  10. Whew, I’ve been in the edge of my seat waiting to hear the outcome of Part 1 of the B2B. I figured things turned out okay since you’re currently enjoying Part 2! Glad it all worked out and your DD will get the treatment she needs.
  11. Jessica feels great now that she has passed the 12 week point, thanks for asking Maryann. We were very excited to learn recently that they are having a boy! Both were convinced it was going to be another girl.
  12. The wind and rain has finally died down in the last half hour or so. I ran out to do a few errands earlier, lots of flooded intersections and small tree branches down but nothing too bad. We never lost power and hoping it stays that way 🤞. My daughter in the next town over had her front storm door torn right off the house, it’s laying on her front steps. Our daughter up in Mass had a few sections of vinyl siding torn off their house. I hate to think if this had been a snow event!
  13. Wait, are you saying alcohol is good for kidney stones?! Why did I never know this 😉🙃??!!
  14. Is that the Savannah outlets? I love that place and usually try to stop whenever possible. On the other hand, Andy prefers to time it so we hit that area when they’re closed lol.
