Patti looks down on the Atrium Bar from up on Deck 5…..
Patti heads back to the cabin to find todays towel animal, and that our ice bucket has been filled…..
I return to the cabin a short time after. I had lost $100 playing blackjack in the casino. No problem, we’re just getting started. It’s a beautiful day to hang out on the balcony and enjoy the sun and the sea…..
We hung out until it was time to get dressed and head to the Captains Venetian Toast in the Piazza San Marco. This is always so spectacular, so don’t miss it if you are sailing on the Venezia or Firenze. The Sunny Violins are playing classical music leading up to the toast….

Lee Mason, who will be taking over as Cruise Director next week while MarQ goes on vacation, is sitting in the audience……
The show ends…..
After the show we go over to talk to Lee and I take this picture of Patti and him….
We were chatting with Lee for a while, when we notice this pretty lady standing there patiently waiting her turn. We step back and she shakes Lee’s hand and says “I’m pleased to meet you, but I’m here to see him”, pointing at me. And that’s how we met Cruise Critic member Erin (TravelE), aboard the Venezia. We all got a laugh over that.
We chatted for a few minutes and promised to meet up at a later time. I don’t know why we didn’t get a picture then, but you’ll meet her and her husband Dave, later in the review.
Patti was going to stay for the Fun Ashore, Fun Aboard show, while I made my way back to the Atrium Bar for some more Bloody Marys…..

Here are today’s Fun Times…..
While Patti gets ready for the day, I head up to Java Blue for a coffee and then come back to the cabin to work on pictures for a while. Around 9am we head down to the Piazza San Marco to the Atrium Bar so I can get a Bloody Mary…..

Just thought I’d stop in to say hello.
I’m 2 1/2 weeks postop left total knee replacement. Been working on all the things I need to do to have a good outcome. Ortho already gave me the OK to drive. Hardest thing is getting the leg in and out of the car. So far I’ve only driven to PT and to CVS, but went through the drive-through. Although I did make an extra stop at Chick-fil-A. Ha ha.
I know there are other tribe members who have had this done one very recently, who I forget who that was. And I know @Hogladyrider had hers done also. Trying to get in good shape for my next cruise, which is a Holland Cruise on the Nieuw StatenDam. This will be the third December that I’ve taken that cruise. Won’t be able to make tribe cruise 2 As I had already booked another cruise for February 1 last year along with a friend. Mostly I’ve been cruising solo since my husband passed away. Hard to believe it’s almost 5 years now.
I know there’s some good news and bad news with the tribe members. I haven’t commented separately, but I feel your pain and elation. You are a good group.
Hey Ellen! My right TKR will be 15 years old this January. Follow all your doctor's instructions and do the PT and your new knee will serve you well! It will get easier.

Hi all!
Jamman - I'm glad I found your review before you got too far into it. 2 days before you set sail I was on the Liberty of the Seas sailing from New Jersey and was so happy to finally see that teardrop memorial in the little park beside the dock.
The pictures so far have been amazing, I love New York!!
Looking forward to the rest of your cruise.
BTW I sailed on Venezia in February and really liked the ship.
Jo
Glad to have you on board again! Patti was able to get some pictures of the Teardrop Memorial on our second sail away. 😎

Afterwards we stopped at Pixels which is on Deck 5 aft to pick up our VIFP gifts which were the tote bags. Patti then went back to the cabin to read and relax.
I made my way to the Comedy Club in the Limelight Lounge on Deck 4 aft for the PG Comedy Showcase starring Tommy Savitt and Chris Clarke. I’ve got my favorite picture taking seat in the back, and my first Punchliner drink of the cruise…..
It looks like it’s going to be standing room only for this show…..
The Comedy Club Host for our cruises is Lisa Marie. She always tells a joke, and most of them are pretty bad, but she did tell one that I thought was funny:
Q: How come Barbie never got pregnant?
A: Because Ken came in a different box!
First up was Tommy Savitt. I have seen him quite a few times before and he didn’t disappoint…..
Next up was Chris Clarke. I hadn’t seen him before, and I though he did pretty good it being a PG show……
Afterwards, I was pretty tired and made my way back to the cabin. Tonight we have to set our clocks ahead one hour to get on Bermuda time. Good night!
Coming up next: A fun filled first sea day!

I’ve got my Sake Sangria…..
Patti has found her first duck of the cruise…..
Patti is going to have the edamame, green salad, and California rolls….
I’m going to have the miso soup, bang bang rolls, and pork and chicken skewers….
What a great meal!!

We are sailing under the VNB…..
We are now heading out to sea. We hope you have enjoyed the sail away from New York City.

MarQ introduces all of the Senior Staff and then Captain Pennisi…..
The Captain says a few words and then offers up a toast…..
Spectacular! Don’t miss it.
Afterwards, though we weren’t really that hungry, we went up to the Lido Marketplace and made ourselves some salad. Patti was going to browse the shops then head back to the cabin to watch a movie. I made my way down to the Limelight Lounge to catch Tommy Savitt’s 18+ show. Once again I have my favorite seat and a drink…..
Comedy Host Lisa Marie gets the ball rolling…..
Tommy Savitt hits the stage……
This was one of his best shows. I gave him a 9+. I have to pee my pants to give out a 10. Very close! After a drink at the Atrium Bar with Pat, I made my way back to the cabin for the night.
Coming up next: We arrive in Bermuda!!!
