If your in a H5 -- you will have better luck than me, I'm in a B2, hoping for a H4, would settle for H7 but would love a H4. I'ma family of 4, so I won't be getting the H5 if you get upgraded.

At the end, I'm happy to be just cruising!

Keep an open mind. Like I said above, I was in a BA and got my close to minimum BA-H2 bid accepted. This was on the Gem, which came with a private hot tub on the balcony too...... Was certainly NOT expecting that, but boy was it a treat! Wishing you luck!

Has anyone ever gotten an accepted offer to move from H4 to H2? If so what did you bid?

I've gone from Balcony BA to H2. I bid a small bit over the minimum ($1550). It's seriously all a game, and no rhyme or reason as to why they accept certain offers.

I am currently waiting to get an answer about my current bids from my H5 Cabin to either H4, H3 or H2. We shall see, I sail on the Escape December 28th.

You can find your roll calls in the roll call forum:   https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/20-roll-calls/  Select your Cruise Line/Ship/ then look for a topic that has your sail date.

We do have to reformat the Find Your Roll Call tool so that is what you see under construction.  Give us a few days and she's be working again.

    Hope this helps

Hi! Would you be able to help me find where "Subscribed" threads are? I can't find a list of all of my current roll calls. I only see two of my many I am a part of. Is there an easy way to view them all/access them?

    Thanks so much!

  5. We're celebrating my Dad's 80th bday and booked two rooms. Debated booking the Bliss but excited about the revamping of the Joy. I do like that the Joy is a bit smaller 3883 versus 4990. I kept reading how the Bliss was crowded and the elevators took forever. My Dad won't be able to to a ton of stair walking so hoping it'll be easier on the Joy.

I booked the Joy for June 2019 as well! Can’t wait!

  6. Do you know why they take "the long way round" ? Is it cheaper to be at sea than be tied up in port I wonder?

Ships are unable to pass under/over the bridge/tunnel system that is jetting across the waterway (Øresund). Instead, they go around and pass under the Great Belt Bridge, Which is the Bridge Doug was mentioning. It’s cool!! Have to go a certain speed under Great Belt to make it under, have watched documentaries on it! [emoji4]

  7. Cruise Critic M&G was moved to Margaritaville...

If anybody recalls a brief dialogue that occurred just after the Bliss Transatlantic about a freeloading guest - well she made it clear that she absolutely despised Vuk, which probably means that he doesn’t cave to her ridiculous requests. Because of this, he’s automatically my favorite Hotel Director of all time.

And I gotta say... quite the nice guy!

Vuk is wonderful! I also see Sawant, another NCL superstar!

  8. I designed them... based on a Beer Fest template, and ordered through https://www.customink.com (about $15 delivered).

If anybody knows Robbie O’Malley (a Breakaway regular) - he was gracious enough to provide the front-on ship photo.

Shirts look great! Looking forward to reading all week!

Have a great time on my favorite ship!

  9. Not a Haven answer - Some of the ships transiting the Panama Canal and cruising the glaciers in Alaska

have the bow deck open - but normally that area is reserved for crew recreation.

Correct. This would be the only time this is acceptable. Panama Canal being a big one where the bow is used by passengers.

  10. Just got a text and two phone calls telling us that check in will not start until 12PM. The ship was supposed to be arriving empty so why would they delay check in until 12PM? I thought we would be getting on early!

They have been going full speed. My guess is currents are delaying just a bit. Don’t worry!

  11. Has anyone been able to get 2 cabins, on the same sailing, with both husband and wife earning a comp? We want to take our young adult kids with us on our next cruise. Is it possible to book a cabin with one of us in each cabin?

Typically, you will only get 20% on any cabin you book after yours. Still a decent deal.

  12. Some silly comments here. Do you think that NCL doesn't want to maximize profits every single day if they can? Laws are laws and that's just the way it is. NCL, Carnival, RCCL, all abide by those laws and take advantage of not having passengers onboard by doing extra cleaning, maintenance and THANKFULLY, a few extra hours off for the crew.

    Exactly!

  13. I'm actually surprised they didn't try to fill the ship up on a one way trip from FL to NYC.

The crew loves taking a well deserved break and enjoy the ship for themselves for a few days. Plus, I would not doubt thorough sanitization taking place as well before she reaches her new home.
