  1. The Gala for Full Cruisers should be at the Fairmont Hotel on January 4th, the night before we board. The dress is "Cocktail" as opposed to Black Tie. Drinks, dinner, some entertainment with a number of Management people as well as some Senior Staff from the ship.

Regent does a good job - not a surprise!

  2. I assume the change-over is when the ships are in the States (except for the Splendor)

    Serene Spa and Wellness -

    Explorer: December 7th

Mariner: January 5th - the start of the WC

    Voyager: January 6th,

    Navigator: January 23rd

    Splendor: February

  3. I looked at the tour to the Blue Lagoon on the Grand Arctic cruise next June and no lunch is mentioned. It is a 4 hour tour.

Indecently, I was there last summer - another line/ship - and getting changed publicly was not a big deal - everyone is concerned with themselves and not paying attention to any one else.

  4. Philipcruiser,

There was a 13/14 year old girl on the whole '19WC. She was traveling with her Grandparents who were both educators. She seemed to have a very good time - they all went to lectures, took tours, spent time in the computer room, went to the evening entertainment and probably played games - I don't so I can't vouch for that - and she was generally around the ship all day.

    She was everyone's daughter/granddaughter.

She was delightful and we all -  officers, staff, crew and passengers - enjoyed her . . .

You are right - nothing  special for kids but this young lady seemed fine.

    Just another opinion.

  5. Rachel and RonRick,

I've stayed at the Regent Hotels, pre-cruise and it's never been a problem. The local people in charge for the most part do a good job and are organized.

The only time I've had issues were on other lines - one cruise was this summer (Iceland) where you and George were as well - the Hotel where we were was a disaster.

Anyway, it's nice to have choices!

  6. As I understand it, the company managing the new Spa on Regent will be the same group which is on Crystal/SilverSea/Seabourn and numerous other lines - a division of Steiner. Here is the web site: https://www.theonboardspa.com/page/About-Us-Our-Cruise-Partners.aspx

Regent isn't mentioned - yet. Norwegian is.

As I understand it, the Spas are somewhat different on each line, depending on what is expected.

I have no clue about costs - we'll all have to wait until the change happens. The Explorer will be first - in early December when the ship reached Miami.

  7. When does all of this go into affect?

The original posting referred to the Navigator in March, 2021. Regent - and a number of other older ships from other lines - will be going to some of the listed ports around that time. I'm thinking of several WC trips starting earlier in 2021 in California.

Most - if not all of the Luxury line's ships are "older" and since I have no clue what controls emissions - physical parts of ships? fuel? What else? This could wreak havoc!

    Just a thought . . .

  8. Another thing you can do - on the old ships anyway - is to ask to have the balcony divider removed between the cabins. That would give you easier access to both cabins. The dividers swing open - that is how the crew do what needs to be done on the balconies -  but can be removed as well.
