That seems to be standard anymore.  Same thing happened to us last cruise, where a “gangway beverage” that we didn’t purchase, showed up after we disembarked.

We didn’t bother, since it was a small amount, but maybe this is a new strategy.

You wouldn't believe how many times I've had drinks show up on my accounts that NO ONE in my family purchased. Heck I just figured it out.. 4 out of 19 cruises. Every time it has been a fight to get the charges removed with multiple visits to guest services. I am convinced it's little amounts so they think people won't say anything. Trust me, I say something!

  2. Blue Lagoon - Can someone please explain Royal Caribbean's pricing to me? I've been to Blue Lagoon twice with NCL and their beach and lunch package was much cheaper than Royal Caribbeans's which is priced at $94. Then I see Royal Caribbean's sting ray and beach package and well I guess no lunch is $59. Scratches head, couldn't I just get the stingray/beach package and buy lunch on the island for less than $94 total? What am I missing here?

Well.. Im interested is finding out too.. I got my cruise through the MyVegas, so I did not "pay" for it. I called the ClubRoyale customer service and the guy told me we will be getting an onboard credit of 50% of the cruise fare listed in the invoice I received after they completed the booking using my points.

I believe when I see it. Because this is too good to be true. All in all, I booked the cruise and did not pay for it, and will get 50% back in onboard credit. Not to mention that Cuba was not my favorite choice (been there many times in resorts all over the island) so it seems to be a win-win situation for me, avoiding the paperwork to enter Cuba with a visa, etc.

I called Club Royale and talked to Daysia (?) who knew exactly what I was asking in reference to how does the 50% off work for those who booked with MyVegas points. She said that the cruise is not actually comped, it's a discounted cruise fare, so you WILL get 50% back if you go on the cruise. If you look at your original cruise vacation receipt, it will say cruise fare $$ minus casino comp. That number is your discounted cruise fare, so you will get 50% of that amount in OBC. If you do not use it, it will be refunded to your credit card. Woohoo now I'm being paid to cruise!

How many of you have actually read https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/Documents/cuba_faqs_new.pdf

posted today? A decision to abort close in trips to Cuba is not making sense.

“Effective June 5, 2019, a regulatory amendment to the CACR removes an authorization for people-to-people educational travel that was conducted under the auspices of an organization that is subject to U.S. jurisdiction and that sponsors such exchanges to promote people-to-people contact (group people-to-people educational travel). This amendment also includes a grandfather clause authorizing certain group people-to-people educational travel that previously was authorized where the traveler has already completed at least one travel-related transaction (such as purchasing a flight or reserving accommodation) prior to June 5, 2019.”

Surely ships leaving this week (and for the next several weeks) have finalized (or nearly finalized) manifests of people who have completed at least one travel-related transaction, and are therefore grandfathered. What am I not understanding?

I don't understand Royal Caribbeans decision to abort Cuba for those 2 cruises. It very clearly states they would be grandfathered. --- coming from an annoyed cruiser to who knows where on Majesty on June 24.

  5. Thanks for asking this. I was wondering the same thing about ifly. We went on Anthem on the second cruise out of NJ. So, not everything went as planned. I think we had a hard time booking North Star then. We wound up just showing up when we were in Nassau and not having much of a wait. Kid was asking today if he could go do ifly at a local place. After seeing the price, I said it would be cheaper to go on a cruise WITH ifly.

  6. Thanks! Is RCCL like NCL where if the lifeboat for that section is full, a third person can't be added, even in there's a bed for a third? Not as critical with the RCCL cruise I'm looking at as I'd be willing to change cabins in the same category. I'm not willing to give up my angled balcony with NCL. Trying to sort through our booked cruises to see which ones a friend of my son can go on.

  7. Someone walk me through what happens in these situations with Royal Caribbean. Situation 1 - If we want to add someone to a reservation, does that mean we have to cancel and rebook with current perks and pricing? Situation 2 - If we do add that person to the reservation and he changes his mind BEFORE final payment, is it another cancel and rebook (at current pricing) situation if the rest of the people still want to go?

Then the non refundable deposit... I get if you cancel, that money is gone .. right? Is there are a cost for changes like above? THANKS
