I am still twisting in the wind, having been 1 day behind others in getting prelim approval. I imagine only on the last day of every month they will check to see if there is any cash to disperse, if the refund program hasn't been cancelled by then.

If I get a refund, I plan to hang tight for a few years for the demand bubble to settle down, then catching up with some back to back cruises.

Dumbth - Did you ever get your refund? I’m considering applying for a refund at this point.

I never wait. Grab it while the program still allows it and cabin choice is better. 60,000 points is not doing any good where its at.  If they cancel, they will refund them.

They have already messed with the program 2 months ago. Whats next????

What did they do 2 months ago?

  3. Questions for those who have single use bonus FCC. Has anyone applied it to a cruise and then later had to cancel? Were you able to get the bonus FCC reinstated as a credit? I got yes as an answer from the online agent chat on NCL’s website, but this person also said I had no bonus credit when I have 4 of them.

What about the one time use FCCs that were given when cruises were canceled by NCL? If you pull your regular FCC - the amount you first paid for your trip - will the extra FCCs go away too?

I’m wondering the same thing. I asked via online chat that exact question. They said the bonus credit would be reinstated, but this person also said I had NO bonus FCC when I have 4 of them.

Do you remember which cabin category they gave you for an inside?  Also, were you able to pick the promotions (dining, drinking, etc) for your cruise?

My free cruise was spring break of 2018 on short notice. They gave me the best available cabin which was IB category (Getaway 11411), and I got the perks that were being promoted at the time.

Has anyone used their points for a free cruise? I'd like to know how difficult it would be -

Not sure what you mean by difficult, if you have the points and follow the terms of redemption, yes you can get a free cruise. I got a free cruise in 2018.

    It may take 2 weeks.

    From NCL:

Any current and active Future Cruise Credits, CruiseNext certificates and CruiseFirst certificates set to expire in 2021 are now being extended. The “book by” date for these credits and certificates will be adjusted within the next two weeks to December 31, 2021. Note all certificates will retain their Sail By dates, which remains for sailings departing on or before December 31, 2022.

I guess I missed the 2 weeks part. When was that announcement made again?

I have no offers at all, not even for balance transfers.  But we use our card pretty regularly and pay it off each month. I wonder if those point multiplier offers are for people who aren't using their card very much or usually carry a balance.  I'm sure Barclay's would like people to use their cards a little more in the hopes of earning money off the interest!

I rarely use my Carnival credit card. I suspect that's why they offered me the bonus points.

Or do I  need a new experienced NCL TA.

You need to call the world points department and run this past them. When you call, ASK to make sure that you are talking to someone from the world points department. I'm not convinced you can take 2 different cruises even though back to back and use 60,000 points to do a double meta cross upgrade to BOTH cruises.

Were you able to rebook this cruise or did they just refund money paid ?

Just wondering as I have a MyVegas cruise booked for January which is looking like it is going to be cancelled although no announcement as of yet.

Unfortunately, you are comparing apples and oranges since the January cruises with MyVegas are with Royal Caribbean. So, nothing that NCL did in the past will indicate what Royal will do. I redeemed points for a 3 day cruise in January with MyVegas, and I added a 4 day cruise before it. I fully expect Royal to cancel the cruises.

Looking at responses about how NCL handled the canceled cruise, you have to remember that NCL clearly says once a FCC, always a FCC (unless you plan to fight it out with your bank... just take the refund to begin with).

I took the FCC on my NCL MyVegas cruise and then applied it to an August cruise that was canceled.  Money that was reimbursed as a FCC.

I have to cancel my August 2021 cruise because the school system is starting school a week earlier than what they normally do. Ugh. So I need to get my 60k points back from using them on a double meta upgrade. Do I contact world points first?

Since no one answered... here's what happened. I called world points directly and explained the situation. She canceled the cruise. Then she refunded the 60k world points while I was still on the phone. I got my cruise next certs back on my account today. Everything was easier than I imagined.
