There are at least 6 floor to ceiling windows. They had two TVs , one either side of central plinth. A settee with a separate chair. There is a walk in closet but not as big as one you find in JSs.

None of my photos are without friends in them so I am reluctant to post them.

We are on Adventure on 24th August and have a bog standard hump balcony , lol

We had a great time exploring the parks along the water this evening. After we went to Carlo’s Bakery and enjoyed some cupcakes for M’s birthday we walked around two different spots.

The cupcakes were delish!

My favorite park we visited was Liberty State Park.

You can see the NYC skyline, Ellis Island and the backside of Lady Liberty! [emoji23]

There I am! I am not a figment of your imagination! Lol

We just put the girls to bed and we are about to turn in for the night. Not sure how much sleep I’ll get. Well, I’m not sure how much sleep any of us will get because we are all excited!

Good night everyone!

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures! We are scheduled for 8/10 and can’t wait! If possible, could you post the menus? No rush-even if you wait until you are back home? Just curious what the meals will be like!

I see someone attached the menus already. I will probably post pics of them as well!

Good Morning! The USPS is up and working hard for you! [emoji6]

That’s the view from our room. Weather is looking a bit iffy today. Storms moving in and out all day. Oh well! A rainy day on a cruise is better than a rainy day at home!

We will be packing up and heading over to Best Buy soon because someone forgot their FitBit charger...

After that we are heading straight to the post!

Gooooooooooooooooood Afternoon! I am writing this post in my favorite spot of this cabin:

It's a little harsh on the buttocks but, I can survive the pain with a beautiful view!

And, look down below! You can hear the waves crashing in the cabin, I feel like I am on the beach, I LOVE IT!

Ok, I am going to backtrack to yesterday so I can properly review everything!

:::REWIND:::

Embarkation:

This is our first time sailing as Platinum C&A members. We were super excited to have a dedicated check-in area. We drove to the port around 10am and arrived around 10:30. The line to drop off luggage was a few minutes long (probably less than 5), so it was not too bad. DH and I hauled the luggage out of the trunk and onto a rack ourselves. There were Porters but they were all busy and we really didn't need the assistance. Once we dropped the luggage off we got into line to enter the parking garage. We were put on the 4th floor and were in one of the last covered spots. After we parked, we gathered our carry-ons (a couple backpacks) and headed into the terminal. Once inside the terminal we proceeded through security which was quick and easy and walked right into the Platinum & Emerald queue. There was one party in front of us, we waited no longer than a minute.

We then headed over to board the ship, but first Adventure Ocean gave each girl a wristband for their muster station. We were on the ship by 11:15, easy peasy!

Windjammer:

After wandering the ship for a little bit we decided to grab some lunch. We took our chances and went up to the Windjammer. It was hoppin' but we were able to grab a table by the window. It took us a while to get our food, but, not too long as there were a few different stations that were duplicated on both sides.

The Ship:

We continued to explore the ship, signed the girls up with AO and then went to our stateroom at 1:00pm. The doors were open and we couldn't wait to see our room. I took some photos and videos (I posted some pics here yesterday) and then it was time to Muster. Muster Drill went rather well and we were sailing away shortly after 3pm. We decided to watch said away from our panoramic windows and watched the ship sail under the Verrazano Bridge. M was in need of a nap (BIG TIME) so DH stayed in the cabin with her while she napped and C and I went to keep exploring the ship. The weather wasn't the greatest (lots of spotty showers) so we went to the Promenade, got some snacks and did some shopping. We took a peek at the Flow Rider and the Perfect Storm waterslides. We have Main Dining so we had to head back to the room to get ready for dinner.

Main Dining Room:

This is where disappointment enters. I've been cruising with Royal since 2002, way back to the Nordic Empress (now Empress of the Seas). One of my most favorite parts of cruising has always been the dining room experience. Love the atmosphere, loved to get dressed up and I love trying new foods. I had heard from many others here and on Facebook that the quality of food and service has gone downhill. I was very much hoping for that not to be true. We arrived at dinner about 15 minutes late (totally our fault). We found our table earlier in the day so we did not have to be directed to our table. It's right inside the entrance on Deck 5. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. At this point M had to use the bathroom, so I took her. Once I got back we finally had menus. A few minutes later our Assistant Waiter came over to introduce himself (gosh, his name escapes me right now) and took our drink orders. He returned a few moments later with the girls drinks and told us that our Bar Server would be coming with my wine and DH's whiskey on the rocks. In the meantime our waiter came over and introduced herself again (She had come by when I was in the bathroom, and wouldn't you know, I forgot her name too!) and took our order. Our Bar Server came over and gave me my wine and DH a Jack and Coke...

Wait, we didn't order a Jack and Coke. DH took it anyway (couldn't let it go to waste!) and our Bar Server returned with the correct drink. Our Assistant Waiter apologized about it as did the Bar Server. We receive our appetizers and realize that it is just not possible to M to enjoy her dinner in a regular chair. We asked our waiter for a highchair and she goes off to have the Head Waiter retrieve one. He comes over, introduces himself and says that one could not be located but he was going to personally find one. He returned in 2 minutes with a highchair (our hero!) and he even moved M over from the regular chair to the highchair. Got to love the service. He asked how old she was and commented that he had a two year old and knows how important it is to make sure they can eat comfortably. He was AWESOME!

As for the food, it was ok. Our Caesar salads were ok, though it seemed as if the lettuce was still wet from being washed. DH's shrimp cocktail was fine as was the girls appetizers of veggie sticks and chicken soup. My main course, the Chicken Marsala, was very good. No complaints from me there. The girls seemed to enjoy their meals (Hamburger and Chicken Tenders). DH's meal on the other hand was not very good. He had ordered Prime Rib done medium and it was more like well done. The girl's desserts were fine (Brownie with ice cream) as was mine (Royal Chocolate Cake). Again, DH was disappointed. He ordered the Crème Brule and it was undercooked. The top was only half caramelized. Yuck. I had ordered a coffee but did not get it until half of my cake was gone.

So far, the Main Dining Room experience has been pretty disappointing. I hope tonight, formal night, will be much better.

Arcade & Adventure Ocean:

After dinner we decided to activate the pre-paid arcade credits on DH and C's seapass cards. What a process. You get a paper in your cabin with instructions. You have to swipe at a game to activate and then use the courtesy phone in the arcade to call someone in the Casino to come and activate your cards. Very strange process! We also decided to have the girls try our AO for about 45 minutes last night. C seemed to enjoy it, M, not so much. She goes to daycare so being left in a similar setting by us is not new to her. They said she seemed sad and she actually cried when I came to pick her up. I am not sure if it is because there were other children crying or if she is just not used to it, but, she was not happy.

All in all, that was our Day 1. We have already done some fun things today and hope to continue the fun after M's nap and dinner!

Day 2 - At sea

M and I started the day off behind the curtains in the cabin taking in the beautiful ocean scenery.

It wasn’t long before C and DH woke up. We then headed to the Windjammer for breakfast.

After breakfast we had an appointment at the NextCruise desk so the girls went to AO. We had to bribe M to go, she’s still a little wary.bade27bbb45dc80a10c729f03866054f.jpg

Once we picked the girls up we played in the arcade for a bit (this was part of the bribe) and then got our bathing suits on and we were off to the pool! C and DH went into the main pool and M and I went over to the little kiddo splash area. She loved going down the little yellow water slide! After a while C and I headed aft to the Perfect Storm water slides.

C ended up going on the blue slide and I on the yellow/green slide. The yellow one is definitely faster and I totally wasn’t expecting the little drop at the end!

We all met back up, showered off and went for lunch at Johnny Rockets.

M took her nap and then DH and C explored the ship and I wrote up the embarkation day review.

We all then got ready for formal night and had another lackluster dinner in the dining room. We did see that nights show, Invitation to Dance. Kudos to the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers, it was a great show!

All in all was a great sea day!

Currently, we are late departing Port Canaveral due to a medical emergency on board which needs to be evacuated via ambulance.

Day 3 - Port Canaveral

With our arrival time around noon we had a leisurely morning on board. We had breakfast and got ready for the day. M and DH went to the little kiddo water slide and C and I went off to origami. We successfully made paper cranes whilst pulling into Cape Canaveral.

We had lunch, put M down for a nap and then C and I played a round of mini golf. At 2pm we disembarked the ship and met up with my in-laws. We headed over to Jetty park and used the beach for a while. We watched Carnival Liberty, Oasis and Disney Dream sail away and then made our way over to FishLips for dinner.

After dinner we headed on back to the shop and watched sail away from our cabin.

Day 4 - Coco Cay

We had no plans other than to enjoy the beach today. We had a leisurely breakfast and then headed down to tender around 10:15. We were off the boat in a half an hour. Not terrible, but, can’t wait for the ability to dock!

Once one the island we found two chairs under a palm tree and then hopped in the water.

We enjoyed the island lunch, did more swimming and then headed back to the ship.

After everyone was napped and showered we went to dinner. It was tropical night! Dinner was a bit better tonight which was great. Then, we were off to the ice skating show. WOW! The ice skaters were phenomenal! Can’t even imagine skating on a small rink on a moving ship and attempting the tricks they did! It’s definitely a must see!

We were exhausted and headed to bed as we were off on an excursion the next day.
