Good, Bad, and Ugly of the Enchantment Royal Suite?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone give me any info on the royal suite on the Enchantment of the Seas? Such as possible noise coming from the Windjammer or anything else you can think of. We just booked it for a 5 day cruise in 2019. Our first RS.

Thanks

On hold?? Please explain?

Our TA is holding it for us because she is on a cruise. She will get our deposit when she gets back. I guess "hold" was the wrong word. She has it booked and she said we can pay the deposit when she returns. Sorry!

That makes sense. Glad you could take the advantage of a RS. Sweet.

I just got off of Enchantment of the Seas in an Owner's Suite, yesterday (which are right next to the Royal Suite). There is some noise, but it is minimal. The Windjammer closes early.

The main noise that would wake me up seems more engine related on Enchantment. It really is not that bad, but my house is completely silent at night (I am on multi acres and it is very quite at night), so the slight noise from the engines/generators making a shuttering noise every now and then woke me up the first night. The second night I was pretty used to it and did not have an issue with it.

I was in that suite in November and didn't have any noise issues at all. Room was well kept and nice and bright. Only one bathroom, but the toilet could be reached through the living room without having to go through the bedroom which was nice. No hot tub on the balcony and I found the balcony a little small compared to Royal Suites on other class RCI ships and top suites on other lines.

They will give you a bottle of Champagne, a fruit platter, a bottle or two of water and some canapes when you first enter the cabin. I found the concierge lounge location a little inconvenient so didn't spend much time in there. I think we went in once to try the snacks they put out (had a hard time finding decent food on this ship), but didn't find it worthwhile so didn't go back. The concierge was a really nice lady forgot her name, but she met us down at the check in area when we were boarding and escorted onto the ship. The Royal Suite on Enchantment is ready before the other cabins so you can go directly to your cabin when you arrive before they make the announcement for everyone else.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask if you have any other questions. The cabin is awesome..Have a great trip!!

We splurged for this earlier this year and thought it was our best cruise ever. Seriously. And we've take a lot of cruises on a lot of lines.

I'll start with "the bad" (of which there really isn't any) so that I can finish with the good. The balcony isn't as big as similar categories on newer ships. That said, there are two lounge chairs and I think a small table and chairs, so what more do you need? There is no "suite area" on the sun deck, but that affects all suites. Um . . . trying to think of something else that wasn't great . . . :D

The good/great. The concierge will walk you aboard whenever you show up. You can get into your cabin as soon as you arrive (assuming it's after 11:00) -- no need to wait until 1:30. The cabin is huge. The bathroom is huge with a jacuzzi tube and separate walk-in shower that can be turned into a steam shower. We had food arriving daily -- all sorts of canapés, including sushi, chocolate-covered strawberries, etc. Wine and champagne when you arrive. You will get priority for reservations for Chops and a great table/server. The day you do immigration (Key West), you will be first in line after those going on ship's excursions. You will be the very first to disembark. We really felt like "royalty."

I don't recall any significant noise issues. The furniture was in surprisingly good condition for a ship headed to the yards. Service was impeccable. Enchantment may be an older, smaller ship but the crew seemed genuinely happy to be there.

My one suggestion (which hopefully) doesn't apply to anyone reading this: leave your entitlement mentality ashore. There were a few folks we encountered who . . . well, you all know the story. The fact is that this ship and crew will give you a great "getaway" break, if you just relax, enjoy and let it happen.

This is great information. Thank you so much! So glad you shared the info.

I have another question concerning the Enchantment of the Seas.

Do they have a special breakfast and lunch for suite guest only? We had that on Liberty and enjoyed it so much.

We have another cruise booked on Enchantment in Nov. 2018. It is the one to Panama. So excited to have a different itinerary.

They had that a couple of years ago on our last Enchantment cruise.

Breakfast was in Chops. Not sure about lunch as Chops is now serving lunch.

I was on in June in a GS.
