On the waterfront questions

Recommended Posts

We just booked the Bliss for 2018.

This will be first NCL experience.

What has been your experience with dining " ON THE WATERFRONT"

in specialty dining?

Windy, cold ?? Great??

What time of year did you cruise?

We will be Mexican Riviera in October.

When we make rezzies, do we request outside seating? Or is that determined at seating time?

It seems like an excellent idea.

One other question:

O' Sheehans sounds too good to be true..... what is your experience there?

Is it table service or more order and pick-up?

After 20 yrs of Carnival, I am looking forward to a New Megaship experience for Mexico.

We mostly do this itinerary cuz don't enjoy flying.

Blessings,

Sam

I'm not a fan of eating outside. Too many variables. But I do not think that you can make a request when making a reservation. O'Sheehans is cool. It's like an Irish pub. There is a bar and there is table service. There is no order and pick up.

On the Breakaway in January we ate outside at Cagneys and La Cucina. Both times we made reservations so we would be eating while leaving an island. Hoping weather would be good for eating on the waterfront.

When we got to the restaurant we told them outside. Both times we were the only ones out there.

We have sailed on Getaway twice- in early June and in early October. Both times we ate at least twice on the waterfront (La Cucina, Cagney's and Ocean Blue) and the weather was perfect plus we caught some nice sunsets. Just request outside seating when you show up!

It totally depends on the weather on the day you are dining. If it is windy or rainy, the outdoor seating will be closed. We have seen people start outside, then move inside to enclosed, air conditioned comfort. It really could be any time of the year. Some days will be hot and humid. Some will be warm and pleasant.

You will still be in Hurricane season, so the weather can be tropical at times.

Determined at seating time. People complain that sometimes the restaurants have open tables, but show sold out. The restaurants have to be able to accommodate everyone inside and have wait staff at a level to support that. If they can seat outside, they will (upon your request).

It seems like an excellent idea.

It's the 24/7 complimentary dining. All dining is served by waiters. Casual dining. We usually stop there for lunch. And potentially sit at the bar around the Atrium balcony to snack and watch the goings on below.
