Loving Nana Posted January 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2018 We are a group of 7 interested in getting to the Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik, Iceland, on June 2nd. We are coming in on the NCL Jade. Anybody know a good way to get there that is: 1. Easier than walking into town to catch the bus. 2. Cheaper than the excursion from the trip. We are also happy to share transportation if someone knows about a company that does so from the port. Thanks

Rare Keith1010 Posted January 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2018 Yes, just take a taxi which many people do. With that said for all of your questions about this area the place to go is the ports of call board that EasyBoy recommended for any questions specific to this city. Krazy Kruizers Posted January 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2018 Welcome to Cruise Critic. You should join your Roll Call and see if others have arranged a tour to the Blue Lagoon -- at this link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2450295

Nitemare Posted January 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Taxi from the city is very expensive, although for 7 people you'd at least be able to split the cost over two cabs. BL has their own transportation options from Reykjavik that you can book on their website.
Rare Hlitner Posted January 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Walking into town makes little sense (it is a very long walk). You can certainly take taxis from the port, which is not cheap, but makes a lot more sense than walking all the way into town. Another option is to rent a car (in your case you would want a van) which you can during the day and also in the evening. Nothing is inexpensive in Iceland...so plan accordingly. Is the Blue Lagoon worth the price.....only you can make that decision. But it is one of the major "tourist places/traps" on the island.
