NCL gift card-what type of OBC does it give?

Pretty sure my Target has NCL gift cards - I think I saw them a while ago. With my red card I get 5% off gift cards! I do this for Disney trips, buy a ton of Disney gift cards at the 5% discount and use them to pay for the trip expenses. If I’m right, that’s 5% I’m going to save, not on the cruise, which is already paid for, but for my on board spending!

Anyone try this? I’d assume I hand them over at Guest Services in exchange for OBC? Can I use that OBC at the casino and voucher tipping (ie for butler, extra tip for steward, etc?). Is it refundable? Thanks

DUH, thank you, Google is your best friend.

There's a clause that "only three GCs can be applied toward a purchase", and also it can be used towards your folio. Has anyone used them previously, and do you know if I can pre-apply them to my account, so that I begin with OBC=$gift cards? And if I try to give them four gift cards, they will only take three? Anyone with experience?

And Q2 (a casino question really) - I know that if I charge casino to my account I pay 3%. If I have CREDIT on my account because of gift cards or OBC, do I STILL have to pay the 3%? I'm betting NO, the only reason I'd be charged is if they ultimately charge my credit card for casino.

and now here's my IT/scientist brain at work....let's say I start the cruse with $500 OBC from gift cards. I take $400 for the casino, and I charge another $600 for excursions, so my credit card bill is $500 at the end of the cruise. Because I have a casino charge on there, do I pay 3% of $400 casino spend? Or what if I start with $500 OBC, use $400 at casino and have $100 left, which I then spend on tips, so I end up with $0 balance. THEN do I pay the 3%, since I was just withdrawing my money?

Sorry for the detailed questions, I'm so cheap that I don't want to pay the 3%, and it would be a real win if I could get 5% off!!

(and yes, I know a few months back I did see the GCs at my Target, if it is worthwhile I'll get some before I leave if they still have them, even if I just use them to pay for excursions. 5% is 5%!)

Unless its something very New Ncl is the only one who sells gift cards. Theoretically if you were able to purchase them yes you could use them anyway you wanted.

You are correct... NCL is the only place to buy the NCL gift card.
