Looking for next cruise. How do you beat the Breeze?

My BFF and I take a mom's only cruise every January. This past January we were on the Breeze. Absolutely loved every single thing about the ship.

I'm looking through some of the other ships for next January but none are saying "this one!" We LOVED the Breeze but want to try new ships each year. How do you "beat" the Breeze? It was a GREAT ship!

What ship would you choose for Jan?

Also.....is it in the works to roll out the same internet packages that they offered on the Breeze (specifically the $5 per day social media sites)?

Thanks!

Does it have to be Carnival? Allure of the Seas is amazing

With Platinum perks Carnival is our #1 choice but we have also sailed NCL and like them. We just never considered RC. Maybe we will look into that.

What did you see or do that amazed you?

Not really sure what it was that "wow'd" us but we it was NOT Ocho Rios. Nothing in particular, really. I didn't get to do the Sky Course on the Breeze, so that would be nice to see that on another ship - but it's not a deal breaker.

Another CC Member recently posted that Ms. Breeze is relocating in 2016. I copied it below.

breeze WILL be based out of galveston. liberty is moving there too.

Carnival will further bolster its leadership position in Galveston, repositioning Carnival Breeze and Carnival Liberty to Texas in 2016, joining Carnival Freedom which arrives in Galveston this Saturday. Carnival Breeze and Carnival Liberty will replace Carnival Magic and Carnival Triumph, respectively, in Galveston. Details on new homeports for Carnival Magic and Carnival Triumph, as well as year-round departures from San Juan, will be provided over the coming weeks. - See more at: http://carnival-news.com/2015/02/12/....6YESEv1l.dpuf

Next year we are planning on spring break on the Getaway or Allure :) But then in 2017 going on the Vista!

I am also excited that the Breeze is going to TX just because I can drive there and since Southwest is based in that area getting flights in and out are very reasonable.

It's easier to say what I did not like (namely Jimmy C's...didn't care for that).

Liked the layout, the Serenity deck being at the top of the ship, Sky Course, Guy's Burgers.

I liked how the Lido Buffet area was spread out and it was never hard to find a place to sit. In fact, the whole ship seemed to be spread out enough where even though it was sold out - it didn't feel crowded.

It also helped that the CD (Matt Mitchum) was fantastic, so that just added to the whole "love this ship/cruise".

The Breeze was just one of my favorites and I can't put my finger on WHAT it was that stood out as "the best" for me.

Certainly can understand what you mean. Sometimes, it's just the FEELING you get that makes you happy on a ship and is impossible to explain. :)

I think you may really love going to Galveston...taking everything from there..people really love the Freedom and Liberty too..for the ship beauty on Liberty and for the Freedom staff and less Farces style..people seem to love her..an idea...I know what you mean....the Paradise did it too me...for Carnival it has the least compared to others..LOL...but food was so good that trip..the spa massages..I had 2 were heaven...watching my table mates seriously gamble each time I passed by...some were serious senior gamblers....the shows..with real band and singing...the karaoke with cute newly graduated kids pouring on the charm to every lady in the house..LOL...the movie I had wanted to see in that neat deco yellow and black second entertainment and karaoke room, Australia,..serenity at the aft overlooking Catalina...sleeping soundly in my comfy 1a...just superb table mates..meeting people for special chats...my first lobster in a long long time and lunch once in dining room and tea once in piano bar...the interesting history in library..the wine kept for me at dinner..superb remembering my name service...everything felt very very fancy for a "budget" cruise...it was not at all cheap..sold!

Would be fin to go to Galveston and take back to backs..on same or 2 different ships...

I know what you mean about not knowing it exactly..now I look back at that time as far more lighthearted and free than I thought I was then...and the memory saves me..I really believe in travel memories..meditation on them..wonderful to me..not sad it is over..happy I did it always...

Why not do the Breeze again since you know you will love it but try to make sure it is a different itinerary with new/different ports. I am doing Dream in April and then again in June but they are totally different itinerary, one is Eastern Caribbean and the other Western. Hopefully I like the Dream, lol!

It doesn't have to be a Carnival ship but with the Platinum perks it would be nice to stay with Carnival.

We tossed around the idea of booking the Breeze again. We know we'd love it! But at the same time we want to try a different ship each year. Right now we're talking about the Sunshine or Freedom.

Thanks for everyone's input!

We booked Sunshine 1/3/15 after the Breeze in July 2014 and it was a great choice. If you read the negative 1/15 reviews on here, most have to do with the fact that there was a medical emergency that altered the itinerary, not the ship itself. Yes, the smoking is an issue for us non-smokers, but the layout of the casino on 5 and the open deck smoking on 10 are in no way deal-breakers for us. The other issue people bring up is the addition of the new cabins while the ship is obviously the same size, and the small and unusually designed comedy club with monitors on the sides. We felt with the back of lido being open seating for breakfast (omelets) and lunch (wok and Italian), there was plenty of room- these are pay dining areas at night.

Overall, the Sunshine feels like a smaller Breeze to us. You have the 2.0 upgrades, Waterworks, Sports Square, Cloud 9 (minus the thallasotherapy pool), and the 3 level Serenity with a waterfall. If you want to try a new cabin type, book one of the new scenic OVs all the way forward...they are very nice with floor to ceiling windows and a bit larger than regular OVs. We did not see any dripping issues, smell any major problem areas, or have any service deficiencies that some people have written about in the past. Of course, any of these things can happen on any ship at any time, but we had a great cruise experience with 6 of us in two cabins on Lido deck. I just submitted a Sunshine review, but not sure it went thru on the iPAD. We loved the Sunshine.

We LOVE the Breeze too! I just don't think any other Carnival ship even compares. We decided to try the Sunshine this year, though some of the reviews on here have me nervous, but we will be back on the Breeze next year with a different itinerary. It will be the third time my in-laws are sailing her and we're not usually a group that repeats ships.

I was big on trying a new ship every time and last year I had my first repeat on the Splendor and it was great! I still had a great time!!
