Upgrade on Breakaway dilemma

I am 68 days out from my Breakaway cruise. I applied for a cabin upgrade about two weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. My bid was just $50 more than minimum. Should I be periodically raising the bid? I don’t want to be bidding against myself but at the same time I would love the upgrade. Experienced NCL cruisers tell me what to do!

The rule of auctions ... know your price and bid only that, don't get caught up in emotion. If you really want the upgrade call and ask to pay the difference. If that is out of the question, then stick with your bid and be happy.....

If you read the threads about bidding, you'll see most bids are awarded a few days before the cruise. So even if you up your bid now, it probably won't help you get an answer sooner.

If you are bidding in the balcony and mini classes, if there is inventory, higher bids are awarded sooner. Once this initial cut is done, the rest are left to closer to cruise.

If you are bidding on the Haven, awards are made on week of cruise and $50 above minimum won’t win.

I bid on a Haven for the BA cruise got it 65 days out, which seemed abnormal. But it was definitely more then $50 above poor.
