Whitnee1 Posted May 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2018 On the POA and reviewed first 14 pages and could not find info. Specifically: 1. Dock at 7:00 with easy walk off is !2;55 flight doable? 2. How far is HNL from the terminal? 3. Best form of transportation? TIA
CruiserBruce Posted May 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2018 1. Assume you mean 12:55 flight. Very doable. 2. A quick look at Google Maps shows the distance to be about 5.5 miles, 15 minutes drive. 3. "Best" is a vague term, meaning different things to different people. Frequently discussed here is Uber and taxi. There is also shuttles. There are several services available. TheBus is also commonly mentioned as the cheapest, but you can't take checked bags on TheBus. wheezedr Posted May 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2018 I would do Uber or a cab. That flight time is not a problem and does not even require early walk off.
alwalaska Posted May 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Someone posted recently that they wanted a relaxed morning, so they had a nice leisurely breakfast and were off by 9. They chose to carry their own luggage, but did not leave when they first called early walk off. They had a 1pm flight and they had plenty of time to walk about and have lunch before their flight. I'm guessing your other two responses have been there. I haven't been there yet but I have been researching like crazy. It sounds like traffic can be a concern sometimes, so unless a local tells you 15 minutes, I would leave more time than that to get to the airport. Quite a few people recommend Hawaii23 or Johnnycab for a fixed price alternative. There is nothing I hate more than sitting in a cab in traffic watching the ticker go up. Not a fun way to end a nice vacation.
princeton12321 Posted May 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2018 Wait for the latest disembarkation time you can get (unless there’s something you want to do in Honolulu) and then just call an UberX. Cheap and quick alternative to pricey cabs there.
