Carnival Valor - LA CASA EN LA PLAYA excursion

Looking for some reviews on the La Casa En La Playa excursion offered on the Carnival Valor.

Was it worth the money?

How was the snorkeling gear? Did they offer life jackets? Would you recommend water shoes?

Good food?

Has anyone done the one from Amber Cove? We are planning to try that one. I know the beaches on that side of DR are not what we think of when going to the Caribbean, but hoping all else is a good experience.

I did this Cozumel excursion a couple years ago and loved it. The service and food were good and drinks were plentiful. If it is still the same property being used, there was also a small pool with an in water ledge to sit and sun while staying cool. The beach is not the best because the bottom is rocky and swim shoes are required (and offered for free use). There were some shady spots.

There are multiple Casas on multiple Playas, there isn't just one. We did the excursion and ended up at a totally different Casa than some of our friends that also did it. For what it's worth, we loved it. Good food, nice beach, nice pool, small group, uncrowded. And more tequila than anyone should be allowed to drink.
