drop off luggage prior to check-in?

We will be embarking in Sydney, with boarding scheduled to begin at noon. Departure time is 5 pm. Can we check our luggage prior to check-in? If so, is there a standard amount of time before the boarding begins?

I don't believe that NCL has sailed from Sydney very often. Ours is a 1-of-a-kind cruise, I think. That's why I'm asking if there is a standard for all NCL cruises.

The local port agent and local port authority control the port. No NCL employees. The port authorities may get concerned if you drop a bag and "run away" vs going into the terminal.

As the Star will be docking in Sydney and discharging passengers there will have to be Port Authority workers there from docking time at the latest. So I would imagine there will be "porters" available to receive luggage from a reasonably early hour.

The "Contact Us" might be the place to ask the earliest time that embarking passengers could drop off luggage.
