jordans mom Posted January 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Have a late April 2018 trip on the GETAWAY - wondering if anyone has a recent Eastern Caribbean experience they can share? If on the GETAWAY - that would be wonderful. If just an Eastern Caribbean experience anytime leading up to April 2018 - would appreciate tips!:cool::cool::cool::cool:
zqvol Posted January 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Nassau was not impacted at all. St. Thomas has been up and running since before Thanksgiving. Tortola is making progress, and should be OK by then. If you are interested there is a Facebook page that discusses recovery in the Virgin Islands in the wake of the hurricane. It is updated regularly about what is or is not open in the BVI, which would cover Tortola.

Bacci111 Posted January 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Anyone know the real reason that the itinery is changing to the western permanently after april 15th? If it is due to the hurricane damage, why are they waiting til then? Just would like to know the reason.
NUPDCOP Posted January 30, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Best guess is to finish up any construction at the ports or to do new construction - this is just a best guess. Itinerary will change based upon the year - winter in the Caribbean moving ships to places such as Alaska etc. No real reason found on internet searches but best guess is that the cruise line wanted to show that they would get their ships and peoples money back into these ports and then allow them to change/upgrade/fix issues with some of the money that came in.
