Dawn 3 People in an OV - Bunk Bed?

We are pondering a cruise on the Dawn ... Will the third person have to sleep on a bunk bed, or ...

Are you considering an Inside, Oceanview or, a balcony (which typically has a convertible sofa bed) ?

Generally speaking, some of the I/S or OV staterooms will accommodate 3 or up to 4 - one will be a pullman bed that drop down from the wall (some are recessed into the ceiling, when not in use) with a ladder for access & a safety railing. Staterooms that sleep 4, most will have a trundle bed, that usually slide under the twin bed - pull out & raised in the "up" position for sleeping - essentially, wall to wall with 3 beds across.

My understanding is that a limited # of new staterooms added to the Dawn when it drydocked ( when NCL took out one of the lounge, or something along that line) - configured it with 2 pullman beds, one on each side of the wall over the twin bed below. The upper pullman bed(s) supposingly, has a weight limit of 250 lbs (if I am not mistaken) & has its own small reading light ... technically, not considered a "bunk" bed.

It's a cozy layout but perfectly livable, sharing the bathroom is part of the challenge in the morning ... but, it can be done - families with children do it all the time, with the 3rd & 4th pax sailed "free" promo (just add port taxes & fees, plus DSC) especially if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the stateroom on sea days, except to shower, change & sleep.

Spot on with biker@sea remarks - almost forgotten about the U setup for 3 beds, it worked nicely on the Dawn/Jewel class ships. Our BIL did not as 3 of them were on the Gem with an OV, deck 8 AFT (non-obstructed) - show the pix to RS and he had it done by evening turndown when they came back from dinner, otherwise - one of the 3 seniors would be doing stairmaster. But, 3 of them didn't need to do that on the BA, got an inexpensive upgrade to balcony ($75 x 2 or $150, from Inside to BD - balcony) during the slower off-season.

Dawn's one-way/repo usually don't sail 110% full so the Upgrade Advantage option might work (assuming it's still being offered later this year when they sail)
