Is the area below this room a smoking area?

1136 does not directly overlook the aft and Sunset Bar, so you would not have to worry even if they still allowed smoking there, which they don't.

Since you do not have any better view from 1136 than from 1116, I would personally choose 1116 since you are closer to the elevators, and in 1136 you MIGHT hear the door slamming from that staircase that runs between 10 and 11.

We have been in 1138 five times on the Infinity and 1140 once on the Summit. I have allergies, and both my husband and I don't enjoy the smell of cigarette smoke. But we never had any problems at all in either of those staterooms.

We were in 1136 a couple of weeks ago on Greek Islands cruise - no issues with noise from the exterior door, the sunset bar below or deck above, and it was very handy for popping down to the sunset bar or ocean view cafe!

We never heard the door slam either. As I recall there was a sign on it not to let it slam. What we liked about 1136 was its proximity to the Oceanview (down the back stairs). We chose our food and brought it back to eat on our balcony. Lovely.

There's no smoking at the Sunset/Ocean View Bar, so not to worry.

Actually, the OP asked about smoke. Since I have never had an issue in either 1138 or 1140 the OP can make their own determination whether they would have an issue in 1136.
