We planning a cruise from Hong - Kong to Vietnam and to Taiwan at the end of December - Beginning January.

Has anyone traveled there during those months? I am trying to find out what is the sea condition during this time? Any big wind and rough sea?

Thank you.

We sailed mid December last year. In general the sea was very smooth, apart from 1 day/night with a severe storm.

Pools were closed and our stop in Da Nang was canceled because of that.

You just never know.

We have sailed this route a few times and the sea conditions have ranged from being calm to choppy.

My advice is to come prepared with something to keep you from getting sea sick and if possible to book a room mid ship and on a lower deck.

These are great itineraries.

Agree with Keith 1010, be prepared and then you won't get caught out.

We were going from Brunei to Nha Trang and got quite a bashing. The seas took the Captain by surprise.

The swell and seas were so bad that we were unable to tender at Nha Trang. This was mid December and we were told it was unusual but it does happen.

Hopefully March / April is a good time to travel. We only have 3 ports of call... I'd be gutted if we missed any of them. We seem to average missing almost one port per trip... fingers crossed not this time!
