Boarding time - on this site vs express pass different answers?

So 99% of the people here say we have to be on board 90min before our 3:30 departure.

So why does the express pass say only 60min before departure?

Why would you want to board so close to departure?

Sounds like something you might want to discuss with Celebrity. Your express may say 60 minutes, but the Celebrity website states 90 minutes. Unless you have a really good reason to delay embarkation, why not just arrive 90 minutes out and not worry?

We check in around 11:30 so have never paid much attention to the express pass. Looking back, it has been 60 minutes when boarding in Ft. Lauderdale but 90 minutes boarding in Seward Alaska. I agree, why would you want to wait until the last minute unless you plan to fly in late on boarding day, which is not recommended?

We boarded out of Fort Lauderdale at 1045. Why wait to start your vacation?? And the lines were short as it took 5 minutes to get our cards and another 15 after that to actually get on board.
