Does NCL still let you upgrade your room if rates have dropped?

On the Escape two years ago I remember booking a balcony, then seeing that mini-suites were the same price just days later, so called to get my room switched and it was approved. With the whole upgrade bidding nonsense they have now, is this still possible?

I upgraded twice on our upcoming cruise without any problem. They were very accommodating.

You do also have to factor in the calendar. The things that NCL will do and won't do vary greatly depending on how far off your cruise is. If you're well before your final payment is due, then you can generally make changes. However, you do need to inquire about what will happen to any perks after the change. After final payment is due, the story is not so clear cut.
