cruising cockroach Posted July 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2017 It'd appear that taking a sugary drink with a high-protein diet reduce the body's ability to burn fat, and make you crave savory and salty snacks later. https://www.healthcentral.com/article/sugary-drinks-trigger-fat-storage?&ic=6107&sp_rid=NjI5ODYyODE2NzMS1&sp_mid=11544015
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I am not big on any of these fads. Key is a lifestyle change and exercise. Keith
Memsy87 Posted January 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2018 I totally agree. You have to make the conscious decision to change your ways and stick with it. Fads certainly aren't the way forward... They're not, for me anyway
shootr Posted January 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Wait, isn't the point of the story really just another confirmation of how sugary drinks are bad for our day-to-day diets? I've been a zealot about dropping soda for years now, especially after watching the film Fed Up about the food industry. To me it has been a lifestyle change to stick with water, tea, and coffee (OK, and an occasional Guinness) and no more sodas, or processed sugar as much as I can. AmeliaF Posted January 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2018 I totally agree. You need to change your daily routines to keep the weight you want to have. Since I only drink water and tea during the day, only sometimes a sugary drink (e.g. orange juice for breakfast on the weekends), I am able to keep my weight. Before I changed my everyday behaviour, I always had problems with the yoyo effect after diets.
