Hi All 🙋🏻, this is my first post on here and my first cruise for 5 years.

I’m on RCL Oasis in a weeks time and would like some tips on the best/earliest time to embark and any additional advice would be very welcome! Also undecided if we need to pack any warmer garments for cooler days/nights even though we’re in the Caribbean? The 7 day countdown begins

My wife usually finds a light sweater is useful in the main theater.

DH and I have sailed the Oasis class 5 times and are scheduled for Harmony April 18' so it's obvious that the Oasis class is our fave!!

We leave the hotel about 10:00 AM to head over to the port. We don't mind sitting a bit because we like to people watch...folks are so excited many talk as waiting to board. The theater and the casino can be chilly and some evenings are windy, I pack a cardigan.

Have a wonderful time!

Oasis-class is our favorite, enjoy! Got there at 11 last month and practically walked right on board. When we disembarked at 8:30 AM the line was already forming. They don't start letting passengers on until 10:30-11 depending on when the ship is cleared, so 10:45-11 is a great time to show up - the early birds have already checked in and boarded and lines are short. Lines start to get pretty long again around noon.

My wife brings a cardigan or light jacket just in case.....usually for use inside but sometimes with higher winds at night it can feel a little chilly outside. Personally I'm always in shorts (or slacks at night) and short sleeves.

Advice:

1 - don't try to cram everything in. You won't get to do/see it all in one week. Just relax and enjoy your cruise. If you miss a show, don't get to do the zip line, etc don't sweat it.

2 - make dining reservations at least for formal night as crowds can get pretty big during peak hours (6:30-8).

3 - if you're having service issues, address them on-board first with the person responsible and if things don't change, go up the chain of command (for example, you're not happy with how your room is being cleaned, talk to your room steward and if nothing changes talk to the Hotel Director)

4 - Central Park is a great place to hang out and grab a drink at night if you want a quiet, romantic place

5 - if you're bringing the kiddos, sign them up at the kids club (deck 14) on embarkation day. Also its not something they advertise, but they will take them to dinner at 5 PM for free. It's The menu is pizza. Was nice to have one or two meals with just the Mrs and I.

6 - They started doing one or two theme nights at the pub. Last month is was Oktoberfest - most fun we had for the week. Check the Cruise Compass.

Enjoy your cruise!

I was just on Oasis. DEFINITELY make dinner reservations, if you have MyTime Dining. American Icon turns into a zoo around 5:30, though if Rosario is still tending bar, go see him for a drink. Nice guy, always made me smile. We left the hotel on a 10:30 shuttle and were onboard by lunch. Check in was a breeze. After 4 NCL cruises, I was prepared to sit....and sit....and sit in that terminal. Nope! RCCL seems to have embarkation down to a science. I think our longest wait was at security, but even that was faster than the airport.

Enjoy your cruise! Oasis is a beautiful ship. I hope you get to see and do everything you want to on your voyage.
