We dined in the Avon, on our recent early December cruise, it is a smaller and more intimate restaurant than the Ballindalloch. The service is excellent, and the Restaurant Manager is on top of everything! As the previous poster said there are good views to be had, because the windows are full length and being on Deck 10 there is a more extensive view.

We much preferred the Avon to the Ballindalloch and liked it for the same reasons as hamrag :)

The food on Balmoral this September was by far the best of all the ships/lines we've sailed on.

Don't mean to be rude, but what are the other ships/lines you have sailed on? That way, it would help us to compare the food catering standard on the Balmoral with these other ships/cruise lines.
