Sushi in Windjammer?

Recommended Posts

Does the Windjammer on Oasis offer sushi? I know you can go to Izumi and get better sushi, but on past RCL cruises, I've been able to go to Windjammer around 6pm or so and they have sushi. Is this the case still?

I ordered some carry out Sushi in Izumi. . . and ate it in the Windjammer.

It was just a few bucks. . . (March 2010)

Yes, there is a complete sushi station and sushi chef right there, very nice. The WJ on Jewel is the finest we've ever had at sea. You will love it. :)

Is there an added fee? What kind of rolls did they have?

Hi Donna, it was one of the stations in WJ in the evening for dinner, sort of in the middle, I guess. There was always a sushi chef there working away, rolling it up, cutting, arranging. I only ever had one California roll but I recall there being at least 5 choices there. It looked fresh and delicious - I just prefer to spend my carbohydrates elsewhere since I am diabetic. ;)

No fee on the Jewel. I recall california rolls, cucumber rolls, as well as nigiri with shrimp, smoked salmon, and egg. They tend to go fast, so keep an eye on what the chef is making!

Isn't Izumi only open for dinner.

This sounds good! I've only seen California rolls on other ships, so I'm looking forward to having more of a selection on Jewel!

Cruise ship sushi is worse than supermarket sushi

I kind of have to agree with this statement. I don't consider myself a sushi snob, but the stuff that was in the Windjammer on Serenade reminded me of something you would buy entire trays of a Costco!

Or that commercial where the guy buys sushi at a gas station during lunch

Sushi? Where I'm from, they call that stuff bait.
