A few more views from the ship:

A ride in the powerboat in the foreground looks like it would be fun. A ride in the sailboat in the background not so much. Just saying.

I love all the photos you’ve included in your report. Thanks again.

I am back! Thanks for reading along, and for the compliments! Day 7 may be a bit boring, but hopefully somewhat helpful for those who are interested in menus. :D

Here we go...

Our final sea day before returning to Port Canaveral was a real “geek day”, my personal favorite. We spent much of the morning in the Atrium.

Towel folding demonstration - it was fun, but we really only attended it to get seats for the Officer’s Profile Q&A:

Ship Facts with André (Cruise Director):

Interesting fact:

There are currently 102 confirmed new cruise ships (variety of cruise lines) to be built in the next 10 years. That bucket list is growing faster than my cruise budget!

I did not realize how many symbols there were for the officer lapels:

The captain, chief engineer, and hotel director answered questions from the audience:

One question was whether the ship really needs a pilot to enter/exit port. The captain pointed out that it is the law, and they have no choice. However, all NCL captains are still trained to use maps for navigation.

He proceeded to tell this interesting story:

When Getaway went to St. Petersburg, Russia one time, Vladimir Putin was attending a football game against New Zealand. For security, he had the GPS grid interrupted, so the Getaway had to navigate with maps.

A few interesting facts about Epic:

NCL Epic uses a water purification system and can release clan water back into the ocean. Everything is recycled and separated on the ship. What can not be recycled, is burned in the incinerator.

Geek time over, let’s tour a few more areas that we have not posted yet:

More spots on deck 15...Rock climbing wall:

Table tennis (also on deck 15):

There is an elevator that leads to the sports court. I don’t remember seeing this on any other ship we have sailed. As someone who works with disabilities every day, it is great to see NCL go the extra mile in this area for access:

As mentioned before, sea days are balcony days for us. We saw many ships out at sea. At one point, I counted 9 on our side (starboard) of the ship:

Carnival Magic was way out there on the horizon… a bit too hazy for a clear picture:

They had most of the menus displayed outside Le Bistro. I only had my phone, so the quality of pictures is not great.

Here is a sneak peek of what they offered in the different restaurants:

To me, the free coffee was great, so there really is no need to buy any. The coffee in the room is very good, but the best coffee I had is in Taste.

Prices of coffee at the atrium café:

Tonight’s dinner at Taste (I forgot to take a picture of the menu):

Crab cake Soufflé… half of it disappeared before I remembered the camera! It was very good, but not as good as the regular crab cake on Royal:

DH had fish (New Zealand Hake Fillet):

Bangers and Mash (one of DS’s favorites):

Leg of Lamb (It was good, but not as good as on Royal. I missed the strong rosemary flavor):

I forgot to mention that we changed back to daylight savings time again before this final sea day. That made 3 time changes in 2 weeks for us. At least we were on the ship, and I could nap on the balcony [emoji846]

Sigh!

For those who are new to NCL: You pick up your own luggage tags if you do not choose the walk off option. I really liked that we could pick our disembarkation time. We picked up our purple tags behind the gust services desk, packed our bags, and enjoyed a final crêpe and soft serve ice cream.

That is it for tonight. I will be back tomorrow night with debarkation info and a summary of my view of our Epic experience.

Thanks for “cruising” along!

Thanks for a great review. We board on Saturday and I am very excited. Your review, especially the pictures have been great to help with the waiting.
