Internet on Pacific Princess

We are saiilng for the first time on the Pacific Princess in November. We still have work commitments that we need to follow closely and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the internet speed and availability on this smaller ship with less passengers. We have read recent threads on the frustration of trying to use the internet on most Princess ships and are weighing whether to pre purchase a package or look for internet sites in port. We will be in the Mediterranean.

We were on her twice. Speed is ok. Problem is thinking you have logged off. So be careful.

If you compare the speed with your wifi at home, it is slow. On checking my email, it works fine for me.

Think of the speed you had when you used dialup internet. We were on her for 36 days and we had several days in a row with NO internet because of ships positioning. They use satellites and can have issues. We also had very limited TV. Sometimes finding internet in a port is not easy either and can be slow and spotty.

Size of ship doesn't matter. Number of PAX online at same time does, so that is an unknown. Also be aware this is satellite based and there are dead zones all over the world.

We were on about 6 weeks ago and thought the internet was decent. Not as fast as Celebrity's but much better than it was on the other Princess ships. Not sure if some new upgrade was done when the ship was renovated in June, but it did seem better than it was before.
