Steak Sauce

Is it possible for my husband to carry his own bottle of steak sauce on board? He ends up getting flat iron steak at least half of the nights at dinner. He's never been able to get Heinz 57, only A1 Steak Sauce, which he doesn't like. The waiters on several ships have told him that Carnival doesn't have a contract with Heinz so they can't serve it.

If yes, would it need to be in his carry-on or checked luggage?

No problem. It's interesting to see what Paz bring from home. Several nights on our last cruise pax set their table with (electric) candles.

Can bring in carry on if it's under 3oz when flying. No limit otherwise.

It is a food item. I don't know if they consider it under there rules as no bottles. You could bring it as long as it sealed and put it in your carry on so you can let them know. And are you okay with them taking it away if they say no. But if you have any left over I don't think you can take it off when you leave. I would try.

Well I'm bringing mint sauce onto a HAL cruise for nights when we have lamb. If they take it off me, so be it

We do the very same thing. And have brought hot sauce as well.

No problem at all.

You can buy Heinz 57 in individual packets for easy travel:

https://www.amazon.com/Heinz-Traditional-Steak-Individual-Packets/dp/B01G4B2C4A

In a pinch it is easy to make your own 'Heinz 57 alike' sauce from ingredients found on all ships:

1 packet ketchup

1 1/4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 packet yellow mustard

juice squeezed from 1 lemon wedge

1 drop hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
