The Port Everglades web cam, the revolving lounge at the top of the Hyatt Pier 66, or from the Jetty at the mouth of the Harbor.

I have also going into the neighborhood that lines the Harbor (on the north side) but don't think there is any good parking or open lots to view from anymore.

The Hyatt revolving lounge is for private parties only these days. If you can stand, the south side of the 17th St. Bridge is great. A higher port facing room at the Hyatt or Hilton Marina is probably the best place. If you are staying at the Hyatt without a view room you can go up to the top floor and use exit the emergency doors and have a great view from a smallish balcony there, per the bell hop last time I stayed there, but we had a great view so I didn't check it out. Also east and maybe south facing upper floor rooms at the Embassy Suites. The beach next to the port entrance would be good too.

Ware is the best place to watch the ships arriving in to port Everglades..

The ships start arriving around 3AM which is way too early or too late for me so be smart about where you are in the middle of the night.

I'd book a port view room at the Hyatt Pier 66 and watch them come in from there.
